My doctor taught me this coping technique. He said that whenever you have any bad thoughts, you just imagine yourself on a boat in the middle of a beautiful ocean with crisp, clear water and you write the bad thought down on a piece of paper and tie it to a stone. And you throw it off the side and you just watch, you just watch as it sinks until you can't see it anymore. It's a good technique. It does work. It's just that... sometimes they float. All the way back up to the surface. They shouldn't, but they do. What can you do.
