Removed from universal nature, civilized man surveys the animals kingdom with the foggy glass of his limited knowledge, and perceives a whole image distorted. Upon our pedestal we patronize them for their tragic faith of having taken form so far below our own. We use them as a resource and exploit them for profit. And therein we error, and greatly error. For the animal is not measurable by man. They are not inferiors or underlings, they are other nations, caught with our own in the net of life.
