Gene Hunt:
[Jackanory theme tune plays on TV, programme starts with Gene Hunt reading the story] Alex And The 'Orrible Awful 'Eadache. You'd better be sitting comfortably or there'll be tears. Alex Drake loved brains. She loved the way they controlled your arms and legs. Made you hungry and thirsty. She loved that these balls of wrinkly sponge could be filled with all our dreams, hopes and fears.

Alex Drake:
