This was alot like a special topping on ice cream, a great sequel film that Mr. Harlin impressively captured the tradional feel of while giving a variety of persepectives that unfortunately left the series and its fans in some sort of dead end null pocket where imagination was light years away laughing like Freddy ,, pardon my negativity. It was such a great film and idea that there was clearly an issue beyond that point trying to live up to the writing and classic vision that cares about Freddy Krueger more than a money making horror film. When i was a kid alot of people said 3 should've been 2 and 4 should've been 3. Though i would say Renny Harlin is a clever guy who struck a balance in his career multiple times handling a sequel where he pleased fans , actors, producers etc... All that said this line here was extremely powerful and resonates in a creepy way. A Demon breaking character of the haunt and being real for a moment. Warning Alice of his impending victory in a the realm of wretched torment by collecting the souls of his victims. The end of the film becomes a whole separate movie in my opinion that represents the end of every Freddy movie that intends to have a conclusion. Ooopse, sorry showing his reflection in the water and echoeing his laugh didnt convince me all that efort to destroy him failed. Nor does it make any sense. I saw the first 5 films as a kid in the 80s and we all wanted to believe after seeing nancy defeat her fear of freddy that it was enough to make him just vanish into mist. Yet we all loved the suspense and suggestion of his survival watching nancy's mother pulled through the window has the convertible sweater top closed. I think that there should've been something cleverly written to logically explain or imply how freddy might've survived alice's mirror attack other than what we got. Excellent line that highlights the entire strength and backbone of the series.
