Lt. Stan Jonas, IAB:
Frank, the M.E. is making the cause of death on Hopkins as a punctured lung.

Patrol Sgt. Francis X. Donovan:
Why wouldn't he have a punctured lung? He was shot and forcibly subdued doing murders.

Lt. Stan Jonas, IAB:
M.E. is making the punctured lung from compression fractures of the ribs.

Patrol Sgt. Francis X. Donovan:
I can't belive this, those sons-of-b*tches!

Lt. Stan Jonas, IAB:
And those he got inside the house.

Patrol Sgt. Francis X. Donovan:
Everything my guys did today... the losses they took, the heroism, the hard work, and for all that... they are now going to have to defend themselves against murder charges?

Lt. Stan Jonas, IAB:
You're getting way ahead of yourself, Frank.

Patrol Sgt. Francis X. Donovan:
No, I'm not.

Lt. Stan Jonas, IAB:
I know. You didn't think it was going to be like this when we talked you at the academy.

Patrol Sgt. Francis X. Donovan:
[scoffs] Yeah, "see working for Internal Affairs as a cause of your duty. Getting drug dealers and thieves off the job. Can definitely help your dad situation".

Lt. Stan Jonas, IAB:
This is what field associates ask for. You did contract for this whether you knew or not.

Patrol Sgt. Francis X. Donovan:
The only answers I ever gave you was that whether my people are clean or not. I never gave anybody up.

Lt. Stan Jonas, IAB:
We don't know at Internal Affairs if any of your people did anything wrong today.

Patrol Sgt. Francis X. Donovan:
At this point, you can only hope.
