Narrator:
It takes a lot of dynamite to blast a hillside off the face of the Earth. But in order to begin construction on the state's new flood-basin project, the hill had to go. Highway Division engineers were assigned to handle the explosives, and the Highway Patrol was called out to set up rigid precautionary measures. Although the community had been alerted by radio, newspaper, and television announcements, it was the Patrol's job to make sure nobody was injured in the giant blast. But in this case, the human element was bound to be more deadly than the dynamite.
