Basically, the program compares texts. It ranks words by their usage, particularly articles like "the" and prepositions like "or" and "to." Words that might seem inconsequential, but in fact, leave an authorial fingerprint on most any work. So by taking a sampling of legal motions written by Stroh and comparing them to motions authored by Reyes...
