Mr. McFeely:
You're a real teacher, aren't you, Miss Cow?

Harriett Elizabeth Cow:
Oh yes. I studied at the teachers' school.

Mr. McFeely:
They didn't teach you to scare your students or yell at them, did they?

Harriett Elizabeth Cow:
Of course not. Why do you ask that?

Mr. McFeely:
Well there is somebody scaring your future students from our neighborhood. In fact, I know one little boy who might not want to come to school because he doesn't know his arithmetic.

Harriett Elizabeth Cow:
They don't have to know arithmetic.

Mr. McFeely:
What about numbers?

Harriett Elizabeth Cow:
No, uh-uh. They'll learn them soon enough by counting things they're interested in.

Mr. McFeely:
You mean like, uh, these cars?

Harriett Elizabeth Cow:
That's it. Those cars... that's just what they're for.

Mr. McFeely:
Your real school certainly sounds different from the one Lady Elaine's been talking about.

Harriett Elizabeth Cow:
Well I'll see her tomorrow. You can be sure of that.
