Arthur Beare:

Maggie Beare:
A letter from the government.

Arthur Beare:
What sort of letter?

Maggie Beare:
They think I'm dead!

Arthur Beare:
And they wrote to you and told you that, did they?

Maggie Beare:
Yes.

Arthur Beare:
"Dear Mrs. Beare, We think your dead"? Well, they have to do that sometimes, you know, because some people are so dumb, they don't even know that they're dead. They keep walking around taking up seats on the buses.

Maggie Beare:
I'm not dumb.

Arthur Beare:
I know. And you're not dead either.

Maggie Beare:
Are you sure?

Arthur Beare:
Of course I am.
