[referring to the lights one witness thought came from a UFO] He thought they looked extra-terrestrial, sir.

Detective William Murdoch:
[sarcastically] So, it's your feeling that this is the work of Martians, George?

Constable George Crabtree:
No, no, no, sir... Venusians! Venusians, sir, have a motive for invasion.

Detective William Murdoch:
And what would their motive be?

Constable George Crabtree:
Well, sir, Venus is permanenly beclouded. Clearly they have somehow managed to sully their own atmosphere and now covet our clear, blue skies, such as they are.

Detective William Murdoch:
[condescendingly] Now, George, why go to the trouble of killing Ivan Wallensky and faking his suicide when they could easily dispatch him with a death ray?
