I understand what George Lucas is going for here is the girl who can't admit to herself that she loves the guy, but the audience knows that she does, and then finally she admits it. I know that's what he's going for, but he FAILS so badly! She doesn't seem like she wants him when he's persuing her, and she doesn't seem like she wants him she's with him. It's all chemically dead. There's nothing there. The only reason we believe it's there is because we're told it's there.
