Johnny Red? He's been digging up there for thirty years. You don't really think...

William Bonney:
Think that he finally hit it? Listen, Patrick, why would Johnny send me a map tellin' me to meet him at San Miguel?

Pat Garrett:
But that town has been abandoned for nearly ten years.

William Bonney:
That's right, Patrick, it has - and that's what makes it sound interestin' to me. You see the story goes that there's an old Spanish mine up there somewhere and it ain't never been found... up until now. About a year ago, I staked old Johnny to month's diggin' money and I laughed when he told me he was going to pay me back, but I ain't laughin' now. So you have an old red carpet staked out for me and when I get back I might just buy ya a cup of coffee or somethin'.
