Washington, who headed Tuskeegee Institute, was the advisor to two presidents. This is scientist George Washington Carver. He caused a revolution in agriculture in the South. He changed and improved the growing patterns of everything from cotton, to sweet potatoes, to peanuts. This is W. E. B. Du Bois. He founded the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in 1909.
