[in old Swedish to a dying Eric, on the funeral pyre] All will be well. Don't be afraid.

Eric Northman:
[weakly] I'm not afraid. I'm pissed off.

Warrior 2:
[hearing rushing noises] Who's there? Show yourself!

[is promptly killed along with Warrior 1]

Eric Northman:
[seeing a boy with ancient Roman tattoos] Are you Death?

Godric:
I am.

Eric Northman:
You're just a little boy.

Godric:
I'm not.

Eric Northman:
My men?

Godric:
Dead.

Eric Northman:
You swine!

Godric:
I watched you in the battlefield last night. I never saw anyone fight like you.

Eric Northman:
I would fight you now if I could.

Godric:
[almost laughing] I know. It's beautiful.

Eric Northman:
What are you waiting for? Kill me.

Godric:
Could you be a companion of death? Could you walk with me through the world? Through dark? I'll teach you all I know. I'll be your father, your brother, your child.

Eric Northman:

Godric:
What you love most... life.

Eric Northman:
