Amalia Verdeales:
[on the phone, thinking his husband has died while travelling to Brazil] Don't be scared, Catita! It's me.

Catita:
[hesitating and stuttering, almost unable to speak] Mrs. Amalia!!! N... no... How are you Mrs. Amalia...?

Fernando Verdeales:
[whispering, to Catita] Don't tell her I'm here!!

Catita:
[back on the phone] He tells me not to tell you...

Fernando Verdeales:
Shut up! Talk to her, I want to listen! And don't tell her I'm alive!!

Catita:
[very nervous, she hands the extension line to Mr. Fernando and talks to the phone] Oh... yes... What a surprise!!! Where are you staying, ma'am?

Amalia Verdeales:
I'm at the Grand Palace Hotel, Catita. I just arrived. And since today is wednesday I figured you'd be at home, taking care of things.

Catita:
Why haven't you came home directly? I'm so anxious to gossip with you!

Amalia Verdeales:
Well, Mr. Fernando... is dead now, and it would be terrible for me going back to the house where we l saw him for the last time.

Catita:
[on the phone, hesitating] Mrs. Amalia... But... you see, it turns out... Mr. Fernando is not...

Fernando Verdeales:
[interrupting her and blocking the phone] Don't tell her I'm still alive!!

Catita:
But she's suffering like a donkey!!

Fernando Verdeales:
Suffering is good for people!!

Catita:
One can see nobody has ever stepped on your bunions in a bus full of people!!!
