[In a bedroom, Bilbo is giving away his weapons and armor to Frodo in preparation for the journey] Bilbo: [uncovers his sword and gives it to Frodo] Here, my own sword, Sting! Take it! Frodo: [draws Sting from its sheathe and holds it aloft] It's so light. Bilbo: Yes, yes, made by the Elves, you know. The blade glows blue when orcs are close. And it's times like that, my lad, where you have to be extra careful. [picks up a white chainmail, which amazes Frodo] And here's a pretty thing, Mithril. As light as a feather, and as hard as dragon scales. Let me see you put it on, come on! [As Frodo removes his shirt, Bilbo is surprised to see the One Ring around Frodo's neck] Bilbo: Oh, my... My old Ring. I feel.... I should very much like to... Hold it again, one last time. [Frodo does not obey Bilbo and he covers the Ring with his shirt, away from his sight. Bilbo's face suddenly changed into that of Gollum and lets out a scream to grab the Ring, but then he quickly comes back to his senses. Bilbo and Frodo are both horrified to see what has just happened] Bilbo: [starts to sob] I'm sorry I've put this upon you, my boy. I'm sorry that... You must carry this burden for me. I'm sorry for everything! [Frodo comforts him]
