Rossi:
Hey. What's going on with you?

Hotchner:
He called me tonight at my hotel and offered me the deal.

Rossi:
What did you say?

Hotchner:
I hung up on him. And then he does this.

Rossi:
So you think this is your fault?

Hotchner:
It is.

Rossi:
(offers his gun) Well, here, use mine. You've convinced me. No, no, you hung up on him. You practically killed them yourself. Go on, get it over with. Don't worry about us, we'll catch this guy on our own.

Hotchner:
Dave, I had ten years to do something about it.

Rossi:
Shaunessy made the deal. The killings stopped. He closed the case and sent the BAU away. For ten years, you worked on other cases, active cases.

Hotchner:
But I kept coming back to this one.

Rossi:
I was retired! I should blame myself for every victim who died while I was on my book tour? Look, if you want to end up like Shaunessy, like Gideon, blaming yourself for everything, you go ahead. But that voice in your head, it's not your conscience. It's your ego.
