Brian Finch:
You remember a lot more than you think you do. Every experience you've ever had, every idea that came to you in the shower and then slipped away while you were brushing your teeth... it's all there for the taking.

Brian Finch:
I can be really annoying when I'm on NZT.

Agent Ike:
We've noticed.

Brian Finch:
My name is Brian Finch. How ya doin'? Um, this is Rebecca Harris. We're from the FBI. [to Rebecca] That sounds *so* cool.

Brian Finch:
You're gonna hafta trust me, okay? These people *hate* Miles Amos. I've had a lot of temp jobs. And I took gym class. I know a petty tyrant.

Brian Finch:
Wassup, dude? Remember when you weren't goin' to jail five minutes ago? That was dope.

Cameron:
Damn, man, what's in those pills?

Brian Finch:
How could I be expected to handle work on a day like this?

Brian Finch:
Life goes by really fast. If you don't stop to look around sometimes, you could miss it.

Agent Rebecca Harris:
[in Brian's mind] You're not dying. You just can't think of anything good to do.

Brian Finch:
Most people are terrified of having their e-mail hacked, but can you imagine having your whole brain hacked?

Brian Finch:
I started e-mailing back and forth with some very interesting people. There's Nina, who has some truly fascinating ideas about why quantum particles change form when someone observes them. Then there's John. He's working on a drug that alters the way we all perceive time. mean, if you could make ten minutes feel like an entire day, what would you do with the extra hours? [pauses] Oh! And Arthur... he claims he's one breakthrough away from being able to double a mouse's lifespan by mutating its genes. The limits of what we know... That's something you can get lost in. That's a way to take your mind off a broken heart.

[to Brian]

Spellman Boyle:
Please don't spill coffee on the top secret file.

[about Arthur, the mouse scientist]

Brian Finch:
Was he a genius, or just a crazy guy in Queens? Off NZT, it's really hard for me to tell. I'd like to think he's a genius.

Brian Finch:
You're telling me to blow off the work the FBI gave me?

Agent Rebecca Harris:
I'm telling you to prioritize.

[to Brian]

Arthur Maciel:
Just wait. You know... even if you're not sure, you still did an incredible thing. You got me out of prison. I owe you. Everything. Thank you.

Brian Finch:
I can be really annoying when I'm on NZT.

Agent Rebecca Harris:
What's best for the case... what's best for the world, turns out to be a very different thing than what's best for the person.

Eli Whitford:
[about NZT] You hear of modafinil? Neuroenhancers? Well, it's like that. Just better. A lot better.

Brian Finch:

Two weeks. She told me it would take two weeks. I guess I got carried away, 'cause I was done in two hours.

Jessamyn Eubanks:
Kind of seems like you understand me.

Brian Finch:
Of course I do. I read your file.

Brian Finch:
Nobody else could figure out what was wrong with my father. Why can't I?

Dennis Finch:
You spend one night on the floor and suddenly you're a doctor, Brian?

Brian Finch:
So, in the end, that pill got me past one problem I could never solve on my own and dumped me right in front of another one.

Brian Finch:
But what if you could remember every documentary you ever saw? Every trig class? Could you do the math?

Agent Rebecca Harris:
What do you want?

Brian Finch:
I can't tell you who killed Eli yet. But I can tell you a lot. You're an FBI agent. You can go places I can't. You have resources I don't. We're gonna figure who really did it.

Agent Rebecca Harris:
[to Brian] You're not smart, you're high.

Brian Finch:
My mom... always wanted me to be a doctor. Instead, I... I turned out to be... nothing, I guess.

Eddie Morra:
[to Brian] Your body craves it faster and faster, yeah. You think it's bad now, it's only gonna get worse. You actually might remember this moment as the last time you felt vaguely human.

Brian Finch:
I'd do anything to save my dad.

Dennis Finch:
Oh, boy, I'm proud of you, kid.

Brian Finch:
You don't even know what I did.

Dennis Finch:
I don't need to know what you did. I woke up this morning feeling scared. Tomorrow, I'll wake up feeling hopeful. You did that. You saved my life. Thank you.

[last lines]

Agent Rebecca Harris:
You were right, you know. About my father. He used for 10 years, when I was a kid. My mom finally moved me and my sister out of the house in the middle of the night. He cleaned up after I joined the Bureau. He came to see me one night last year, and... something was off. He said he'd been blind his whole life, but now, tonight, he could see. When he left, he said the next time I saw him, he'd be a different person. A better person. Three weeks later, his body floated up in the East River.

Brian Finch:
I'm sorry.

Agent Rebecca Harris:
You know what I remember about that night? His eyes. They had this shine. Just like yours did on that subway platform.

Brian Finch:
That's why you didn't shoot me.

Agent Rebecca Harris:
I think my father was on NZT that night. And if I can figure out where it comes from, maybe I can figure out what happened to him. You agreed to do a job, Brian.

[with an NZT pill in her right hand]

Agent Rebecca Harris:
It's time. Just don't lie to me. Ever.

[gives the pill to Brian]

Brian Finch:
You sure about this?

Agent Rebecca Harris:
I couldn't help my father. Maybe I can help you.

Rachel Finch:
He must be pretty important to you guys, huh?

Agent Ike:
Definitely.

Rachel Finch:
You must be pretty important, too, considering you're assigned to him.

Agent Ike:
[chuckles] I'm not that important, no. I... I just... It's my job to protect him.

Rachel Finch:
That's important to me.

Agent Ike:
Well, I did take a bullet once.

Rachel Finch:
Seriously?

Agent Ike:
Mm.

Rachel Finch:
You took a bullet to save my brother's life?

Agent Ike:
That's pretty much the way it happened.

[after punching Brian in the face]

Mr. Sands:
You got mugged, remember?

Brian Finch:
I do now.

Senator Eddie Morra:
You can't change the world on its own. It has to be willing to be change.

Brian Finch:
I have been chasing Mr. Pralines and Cream for years. You caught him in a day. What's your story?

Brian Finch:
Fresh eyes.

Brian Finch:
No, I know talent when I see it, and you're the real thing.

Agent Rebecca Harris:
I'm just curious.

Brian Finch:
[as narrator] Just curious? In my experience, when Rebecca Harris is "just curious, stuff gets figured out.

Nasreen 'Naz' Pouran:
[to Brian, not being impressed by his posters] Uh, we have PowerPoint, you know.

Brian Finch:
If you saw me as a threat, I'd be dead already, so what is this? Presumably, you want something from me.

Piper:
You're under his thumb, same way I was. He took everything from my life that mattered. He'll do the same to you, trust me. There's only one way out.

Brian Finch:
What is that?

Piper:
You're going to help me kill Eddie Morra.

Brian Finch:
They want me to kill her. She wants me to kill them. Who do I side with?

Senator Eddie Morra:
Why are you trying so hard to hold on to the person you were before NZT?

Brian Finch:
That's who I am.

Senator Eddie Morra:
Well, it doesn't have to be. I remember Eddie Morra. He was a terrible writer. And he lacked the self-discipline and awareness to do anything about it. I couldn't wait to get rid of him and become somebody else. But you? We're different from other people, Brian. We become more different with every pill we take. You don't have to run from that. You can embrace it.

Brian Finch:
I don't want to be someone else.

Senator Eddie Morra:
I think you do. You're just not willing to admit it yet. You're on NZT. You're above the kind of concerns that you're letting weigh you down. Put them down, walk away. You'll feel so much lighter. I promise.

Piper:
[to Brian] You can't play both sides forever.

Nasreen 'Naz' Pouran:
I want to make sure you all understand this: these are bad people and they've killed federal agents before.

Brian Finch:
[raises hand] Do you think they kill consultants?

Brian Finch:
[moving lips] One pill a day.

Agent Rebecca Harris:
I-I don't know how to start the conversation. And every time I try...

Brian Finch:
You back down, okay. So compose what you want to say [Rebecca takes out her cellphone] without giving him a chance to intterupt or redirect, and that way you won't feel like [Rebecca's phone gives an alert notification] - Did you just break up with him over text?

Rebecca Harris:
That happens to some people. They get addicted to being somebody else.

Lucy Church:
Where did you get this money?

Brian Finch:
I mean, getting the passports back didn't take very long, so I stopped by the horse races. I read up on a few of the ponies, got a little lucky, and went home with a bit of cash. Just a little something to help get them back on their feet.

Lucy Church:
Remind me to take you to Vegas next time.

Brian Finch:
[about Ava] You know what? You should be proud of her. She's almost as cool as her mom. Just saying...
