[first lines]

Val Resnick:
Oh, I bet you got a lot of questions rattling around in your head.

Lynn Porter:
Porter... you're not dead.

Porter:
Where's Val?

Lynn Porter:
Gone. Moved out two months ago.

Porter:
Where?

Lynn Porter:
Don't know.

Porter:
Who's paying your rent?

Lynn Porter:
Val.

Porter:
Why?

Lynn Porter:
Payoff, I guess.

Porter:
[angrily, grabbing her arm] What, you guess? You don't know?

[Lynn gets her arm back, and Porter beats her up]

Porter:
[showing Lynn the photo of him and Rosie] Look at that. That's before we met, baby. Think about it.

Lynn Porter:
So what are you gonna do, Porter?

Porter:
I'm gonna get my money back.

[Porter realizes that's not what she was referring to]

Porter:
Oh, you mean what am I going to do to you? Well that depends on you. Where's Val?

Lynn Porter:
I told you, I don't know.

Porter:
Did he ever buy his way back into the syndicate?

Lynn Porter:
Yeah.

Porter:
How do you get your payoffs?

Lynn Porter:
A messenger, first of every month, leaves an envelope with cash in it.

[pause]

Lynn Porter:
So who was she, anyway? That girl in the picture.

Porter:
I met her when I got out of prison. I used to drive her, keep her safe while she worked.

Lynn Porter:
What were you, her pimp?

Porter:
No. We both worked for that a**hole.

Rosie:
All this time, you don't even pretend to ask how I've been.

Porter:
[after groaning] You need any cash or anything?

[Rosie throws an object at Porter, but he catches it in his hand]

Rosie:
Get yourself killed, prick. I ought to tell him you're coming.

Val Resnick:
[frustrated after his guards are reassigned] I'll do it myself. Do it myself. You want it done, you got to do it yourself! It's the American way!

Val's Thug:
I think I f***ed you once.

Rosie:
Oh yeah?

[Rosie points gun at thug]

Rosie:
What do you think the odds are on twice?

Porter:
[to Rosie] I'll meet you at the L in ten minutes.

Rosie:
I'll be there.

[Rosie leaves the truck]

Porter:
I don't think your odds are good.

[Porter executes the thug in cold blood]

Val Resnick:
The problem with kicking a Chow's ass is an hour later you wanna do it again.

[repeated line]

Arthur Stegman:
You're not gonna f***in' kill me, are you?

Porter:
You got a light?

Val Resnick:
What?

Porter:
You got a light?

Val Resnick:
No.

Porter:
Then what good are you?

[Porter puts a pillow over Val's head and shoots him]

Val Resnick:
Beauty of the Chows is that they won't go to the cops. They keep everything in house... and they don't feel pain the way we do.

Porter:
You notice anything about those guys, Val?

Val Resnick:
They look nasty... probably all Kung Fu-motherf***ers. Why, did I miss something?

Porter:
They weren't wearing their seatbelts.

Rosie:
How strong are you, Porter? Personally, I think you are the strongest man I have ever met. But I wonder if it's enough.

Porter:
For what?

Rosie:
If I know you, you want this Resnick guy for something he won't like.

Porter:
Yeah, I'm gonna kill him.

Rosie:
That's something he won't like.

Carter:
[after being shot by Porter] You just don't get it, do you, you dumb f***.

[last lines]

Rosie:
I gotta get you to a hospital.

Porter:
No hospitals. I know a guy.

Rosie:
Is he a doctor?

Porter:
No... no.

[Porter holds Rosie's hand over the backpack of money]

Rosie:
Just tell me where to go.

Porter:
Just drive, baby.
