What is that contraption?

Tenzin:
A time-honored tool that teaches the most fundamental aspect of airbending. Jinora, would you like to explain this exercise?

Jinora:
The goal is to weave your way through the gates and make it to the other side without touching them.

Korra:
Seems easy enough.

Ikki:
Jinora forgot to say that you have to get through while the gates are spinning.

Tenzin:
Airbending is all about spiral movements. When you meet resistance, you must be able to switch direction at a moment's notice.

Jinora:
Don't force your way through!

Ikki:
Dance! Dance like the wind!

Meelo:
Be the leaf!

Korra:
Yeah, it's not sinking in yet. I'm gonna go get a glass of lychee juice.

Tenzin:
Korra, the meditation's not over yet!

Ikki:

Tenzin:

Bolin:

Korra:

Bolin:

I'm just not sure how my earthbending would translate to your waterbending, but we'll figure it out.

Korra:

Korra:

Korra:

Jinora:

Korra:

Tenzin:
I have tried my very best to get through to you by being gentle and patient, but clearly the only thing you respond to is force! So I am ordering you to come back to the temple right now!

Why? So I can sit around and meditate about how bad I am at airbending? You know, I'm beginning to think there's a reason I haven't been able to learn it! Because, maybe, I don't even need it!

Tenzin:
What? That is a ludicrous suggestion! The Avatar needs to learn airbending! It's not optional!

Korra:
No! This is what I need to learn! Modern styles of fighting!

Tenzin:
Being the Avatar isn't all about fighting, Korra! When will you learn that?

Korra:
I have a match to go finish.

Tenzin:

Mako:

Korra:

Korra:
I'll see you tomorrow for airbending practice, bright and early! And, by the way, I kinda permanently joined the Fire Ferrets and we're playing in the tournament in a couple of weeks!

Wan Shi Tong:
I see that you have some knowledge of the past, so you should know that humans are no longer allowed in my library. Get out!

Jinora:
I thought anyone could come in if they brought you some new knowledge.

Wan Shi Tong:
Those are the old rules. Besides, what is a little girl going to teach Wan Shi Tong, he who knows ten thousand things?

Jinora:
Well, since you've been down in the spirit world, the humans have invented radio.

Wan Shi Tong:

Wan Shi Tong:

[Interrupting] Alright, enough! I did not know this. [He turns to look at a Knowledge Seeker fox in the distance] Apparently I have been fed some misinformation about the existence of tiny men in boxes. [the fox walks away sheepishly] Still, I'm not interested in that human garbage. Now go away.

Meelo:
When Korra gets here, I bet she won't even know who I am!

Ikki:
Why's that?

Meelo:
Because Meelo the boy, has turned into Meelo the MAN!

Ikki:
Right... you're completely unrecognizable.

Korra:
Man, I got a good feeling about tonight. I don't care if we are the underdogs. We can take those pompous Wolfbats.

Mako:
It's going to be our toughest match ever, but I think you're right.

Bolin:
Introducing your new champs, the fantastic Fire Ferrets!

Amon:
Good morning, citizens of Republic City. This is Amon. I hope you all enjoyed last night's pro-bending match, because it will be the last. It's time for this city to stop worshiping bending athletes as if they were heroes. I am calling on the council to shut down the bending arena and cancel the finals, or else there will be severe consequences.

Tenzin:
Tarrlok's playing you and I don't want to see you get hurt.

Lin Beifong:
I know what I am doing and the risks that come with it.

Tenzin:
In that case, I'm going to be by your side during the match.

Lin Beifong:
You don't need to babysit me.

Tenzin:
It's for Korra. I want to make sure she's safe.

Lin Beifong:
Do what you want! It's not like I've ever been able to stop you before.

Lieutenant:
I just got word. The council defied your threat. They're keeping the arena open.

Amon:
Perfect. Everything is going according to plan.

Tenzin:
Lin, with so much on the line it would be nice if we could help each other out, at least for one night.

Lin Beifong:
Like old times?

Tenzin:
Like old times.

Lin Beifong:
Okay, I'll try to be less abrasive than usual.

Tenzin:
I would appreciate that.

Bolin:
You're on, Pabu. He's so talented!

Korra:
I'm gonna knock Tahno's stupid hair off his stupid head!

[Tahno makes an illegal move]

Mako:
What's the big idea, ref? That was a hosing foul!

Tenzin:
Oh come on, refs! There was some funny business in that last play!

Lin Beifong:
Wouldn't have guessed you knew the rules of pro-bending.

Tenzin:
I've been brushing up... That Wolfbat blatantly bent a disk outside of his zone.

Korra:
What's wrong with these refs?

Mako:
They've been paid off; it's the only explanation. Someone wants us to lose.

Korra:
If the Wolfbats are gonna fight dirty, then so should we.

Mako:
No we can't! The refs have it out for us. If we're gonna win this thing, it has to be fair and square.

Korra:
Argh, that's no fun but... alright.

Lin Beifong:
I can't believe your sweet-tempered father was reincarnated into that girl. She's tough as nails.

Tenzin:
Reminds me of someone else I knew at that age. You two might get along if you would only give her a chance.

Lin Beifong:
Hmph.

Tenzin:
Oh, come on! Those were illegal head shots! Open your eyes, ref!

Tahno:
I barely broke a sweat! Anybody else wanna scrap with the champs?

Amon:
I believe I have your attention, benders of Republic City. So once again, the Wolfbats are your pro-bending champions. It seems fitting that you celebrate three bullies who cheated their way to victory because every day, you threaten and abuse your fellow non-bending citizens just like the Wolfbats did to their opponents tonight. Those men were supposedly the best in the bending world and yet it only took a few moments for me to cleanse them of their impurity. Let this be a warning to all of you benders out there: if any of you stand in my way, you will meet the same fate. [Spectators gasp in fear and shock. Cut to frontal view of Amon and Equalist group] Now, to my followers: for years the Equalists have been forced to hide in the shadows, but now we have the numbers and the strength to create a new Republic City. [Cut to the Fire Ferrets, who regained consciousness. Amon continues speaking in the background] I'm happy to tell you that the [Close-up of Fire Ferrets] time for change has finally come. Very soon, the current tyrannical bending regime will be replaced by a fair-minded Equalist government. You and your children will no longer have to walk the streets afraid! It's time to take back our city.

Amon:
For centuries, benders have possessed an unnatural advantage over ordinary people. But thankfully, modern technology has provided us with a way to even out the playing field. Now anyone can hold the power of a chi-blocker in their hand. My followers and I will not rest until the entire city achieves equality, and once that goal is achieved, we will equalize the rest of the world. The revolution has begun!

Mako:
How are we gonna get out of here?

Bolin:
Pabu! Listen up, buddy.

[starts making clicking noises]

Mako:
Stop fooling around!

Bolin:
I'm not! I'm trying to save us! See? Pabu's not just a one trick poodle pony.

Korra:
I'm going after Amon!

Mako:
Be careful!

[Korra creates a water whirl, only to start falling and be caught by Lin Beifong who throws her up to the roof after Amon and the Equalists]

[Mako runs up and hugs Korra]

Mako:
I'm so glad you're okay!

[Bolin hugs both of them]

Bolin:
Me too!

Lin Beifong:
I can't believe Amon did this. I played right into his hand.

Tenzin:
He played us all. Republic City is at war.

Tenzin:
Korra, you shouldn't be here. This is a closed meeting.

Korra:
As the Avatar and a pro-bending player, I have a right to be heard. You can't cancel the finals.

Tenzin:
I know winning the championship means a lot to you. But as far as I'm concerned, we need to shut the arena down.

Korra:
What about the rest of you? Tarrlok, there's no way you're backing down from Amon, right?

Tarrlok:
Actually, Tenzin and I agree for once.

Tenzin:
The council is unanimous. We're closing the arena.

Lin Beifong:
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with the Avatar.

Tarrlok:
You do?

Korra:
Yeah, you do?

Lin Beifong:
I expected this kind of cut-and-run response from Tenzin. But the rest of you? Come on, show a little more backbone. It's time that the benders of this city displayed some strength and unity against these Equalists.

Tenzin:
We must prevent the conflict between benders and non-benders from escalating into all-out war! The council is not changing its position, Lin.

Tarrlok:
Now just a moment, Tenzin. Let us hear what our esteemed Chief of Police has in mind.

Lin Beifong:
If you keep the arena open, my metalbenders and I will provide extra security during the championship match. There's no better force to deal with the chi-blockers. Our armor is impervious to their attacks.

Tarrlok:
Are you saying that you will personally take responsibility for the safety of the spectators in the arena?

Lin Beifong:
I guarantee it.

Tarrlok:
It is hard to argue with Chief Beifong's track record. If she is confident her elite officers can protect the arena, then she has my support. I am changing my vote. Who else is with me? The arena stays open. Good luck in the finals.

Korra:
What did your father do to make her hate the Avatar so much?

Tenzin:
My father and Lin got along famously. I'm afraid her issues... are with me.

Korra:
Wait a second... it all makes sense now! You and Beifong, Beifong and you. You two were a couple!

Tenzin:
What! How-? Where'd you get that idea?

Korra:
Ha! Your wife!

Tenzin:
Criminy! I'll have to have a word with her.

Korra:
So... Pema stole you from Beifong. I'm surprised our "esteemed Chief of Police" didn't throw her in jail.

Tenzin:
Oh, she tried. Anyway, Pema didn't steal me, Lin and I had been growing apart for some time. We both had different goals in li- Why am I even telling you this? It all happened a long time ago and we've moved passed it.

Korra:
Hm, apparently Beifong hasn't.

Tenzin:
What do you... Of course she has! Anyway, this is none of your business!

Korra:
See you at home, Mr. Heartbreaker!

Bolin:
Pfft, they got nothing on us, buddy. Anybody can howl. OOOOOOOOO. Hm, whatever.

Shiro Shinobi:
The Ferret brothers are backed up to zone three and the Wolfbats smell blood. Looks like Tahno snuck in an illegal icing move but once again there's no call. I don't know what match the refs are watching but it's obviously not this one. Oh... a splash-and-clash send the Avatar to zone three as well. It's a knockout! The Wolfbats win the championship for the fourth year in a- Hold on a second, folks! Scratch that! The Ferrets are still alive, but just barely. What an unbelievable move! These Ferrets aren't just bending the elements, they're bending my mind! The underdogs survive to see round two.

Korra:
I'm taking this one. Let's go! You and me, pretty boy!

Tahno:
Thought you'd never ask.

[Korra and Tahno move towards each other]

Tahno:
Come on, little girl. Give me your best shot.

[Korra knocks Tahno off]

Korra:
Hmph, chump.

Ring Announcer:
Folks, there is some sort of electrical disturbance in the stands. Metalbender cops are dropping like bumbleflies. There appear to be masked members of the audience wielding strange devices on their hands. One of them is in the booth with me right now, folks! He is leveling one of those glove devices at me now and I believe he is about to electrocute me. I am currently wetting my pants.

Tahno:
What's going on here, ref?

Referee:
I don't know!

Tahno:
All right, you want a piece of the Wolfbats? Here it comes!

[Tahno and his team try to attack Amon and t he Equalists, but they lose]

Tahno:
Wait, please don't do this! I'll give you the championship pot, I'll-I'll give you everything just please don't take my bending!

[after Korra and Lin fought equalists and Lin saved her from falling]

Lin Beifong:
You alright?

Korra:
I'm fine, thanks to you.

Lin Beifong:
Don't mention it, kid. Looks like we lost this one.

Tonraq:
Thank you for coming everyone, I know these last few days have been very troubling.

Varrick:
Troubling? Troubling is when I get that itchy rash that won't go away, and Zhu Li's not around to scratch it!

General Iroh:
I think we've found our secret airfield. Bolin, once we get down there, I need you to tear up those runways. We can't let those aircraft take off.

Bolin:
Aye, aye, captain! Ooh, general, general. All right, you guys wait here until we get back, okay? Uh-uh, stay.

Asami Sato:
Why would there be fence posts, but no fence?

[they walk through it and get electrocuted]

Amon:
Thank you all for joining me on this historic occasion. When I was a boy, a firebender struck down my entire family and left me scarred. That, tragic event began my quest to equalize the world.

Korra:
That's a lie, Amon! Or should I call you Noatak?

Korra:
Amon has been lying to you. The spirits didn't give him the power to take bending away. He uses bloodbending to do it. Amon is a waterbender!

Lieutenant:
What is this nonsense?

Amon:
You're desperate, Avatar. Making up stories about me is a pathetic last resort.

Korra:
Your family wasn't killed by a firebender. His father was Yakone, and his brother... is Councilman Tarrlok.

Amon:
An amusing tale, but I will show you the truth. This is what a firebender did to me.

[takes off his mask to show burns]

Amon:
I wouldn't leave yet, Avatar. You'll miss the main event.

[the stage rises and shows a bound Tenzin and his children- Jinora, Ikki and Meelo]

Korra:
No... they got away. We saw them get away!

Asami Sato:
How are we gonna get out of here?

General Iroh:
I don't suppose you know how to metalbend?

Bolin:
That is a negative, sir.

Amon:
Tonight, I rid the world of air bending. Forever.

Korra:
Amon, let them go!

Amon:
You're welcome to come down here and try to stop me.

Mako:
He's trying to bait you.

Korra:
I don't care! We have to save them!

Amon:
The Avatar needs to be reminded of the power I possess.

[Melting Tenzin's chains]

Korra:
Where are Pema and the baby?

Tenzin:
In prison.

Korra:
Beifong?

Tenzin:
I don't know.

Korra:
Follow me kids. Get them out of here, we'll create a diversion.

Tenzin:
Let's go get your mother and the baby.

Meelo:
PRISON BREAK!

[Amon is about to take Korra's bending]

Mako:
Let her go!

[after taking her bending]

Amon:
I told you I would destroy you.

[lands on Aang's statue]

General Iroh:
Thanks for looking out for me, Aang.

Hiroshi Sato:
Asami, what do you think you're doing? You are aiding the very people who took your mother away!

Asami Sato:
You don't feel love for Mom anymore. You're too full of hatred.

Hiroshi Sato:
You ungrateful, insolent child! I now see there is no chance to save you!

[riding on Naga and hitting him with earthbending]

Bolin:
Mr. Sato, you are a horrible father!

Asami Sato:
You really are a horrible father.

Amon:
Finally, you are powerless.

Korra:
Mako... my bending...

Mako:
Everything will be all right! We just need to get out of here!

[Mako is about to lose his bending]

Korra:
No!

[airbends for the first time]

Amon:
Impossible.

Korra:
I can airbend. I can airbend!

[Amon bloodbends her]

Korra:
No, you don't!

Tarrlok:
Noatak.

Amon:
It's over brother, I'm sorry for what I had to do to you

Tarrlok:
Our father set us on this path, fate caused us to collide. I should have left with you when we were boys.

Amon:
Leave with me now, we have a second chance, we can start over together. Please, you are all I have left in the world.

Lin Beifong:
I can't believe Amon got you too.

Bolin:
Hey. at least you unlocked your airbending!

Mako:

Bolin:

Tenzin:

Ikki:

[shows Bumi yelling/howling on his ship]

Tenzin:
Great, now I have to entertain my brother.

Tarrlok:
It'll be just like the good old days.

Katara:
I've tried everything in my power, but, I cannot restore Korra's bending.

Lin Beifong:
But you are the best healer in the world, you have to keep trying!

Katara:
I am sorry, there's nothing else I can do. Korra can still airbend, but her connection with the other elements has been severed.

Tenzin:
It's going to be all right Korra.

Korra:
No. It's not.

Mako:
Korra, wait.

Korra:

Mako:
I will, but I just want you to know, I'm here for you.

Korra:
No, I mean, go away, back to Republic City. Get on with your life.

Mako:
What are you talking about?

Korra:
I'm not the Avatar anymore. You don't need to do me any favors.

Mako:
I don't care if you're the Avatar or not. Listen, when Tarrlok took you I was losing my mind at the thought of never seeing you again, I realized... I love you, Korra.

Korra:

Korra:

Aang:

[Energybends so she can active the Avatar State, where she bends air, along with the elements she lost]

Korra:

[Korra uses energybending to restore her bending]

Lin Beifong:

Tenzin:
I am so proud of you, Avatar Korra.

Aang:

Mako:
Did you know Kuvira was building that thing?

Bolin:
Oh, did I forget to mention it? NO, OF COURSE I DIDN'T KNOW!

Korra:
What are you doing? Tarrlok! You can't keep me here forever!

Meelo:

Tenzin:
[Tenzin takes the phone]

Tenzin:
Councilman Tenzin here... What?

Tenzin:
What happened? What was Korra doing at City Hall?

Tarrlok:
As I told Chief Saikhan, Korra came to my office last night. She was upset that I arrested her friends. She asked me to release them and- that's when the Equalist's attacked.I tried to protect Korra. We were outnumbered, then, I was electrocuted. When I came to, the police had arrived. But Korra was gone. I'm so sorry. Chief Saikhan, mobilize the entire police force. We have to find the Avatar.

Lin Beifong:
Hope you got enough beauty rest. Come on, I'm busting you out.

Asami Sato:
Thanks. I owe you.

Mako:
Are you done yet?

Bolin:
Cover your ears! I can't go with you listening.

Bolin:
Your fly was down.

Lin Beifong:
Thanks for catching that.

Toph Beifong:
What are you doing here, Aang? I told you. I have this under control.

Aang:
Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't get involved, but if what those victims say is true, we're not dealing with a normal criminal.

Toph Beifong:

[some time later]

Aang:
We have dozens of witnesses, Yakone. We know what you are.

Toph Beifong:

Korra:
Whoa. I finally connected with you, Aang. But, what are you trying to tell me? A way out of this box would be nice.

Tenzin:
Lin, what are you... you should be in the hospital! And you three! You should be in prison

Lin Beifong:
I figured you could use our help finding Korra.

Mako:
Do you have any leads?

Tenzin:
I've been on the phone all morning, but nothing yet.

Mako:
We need Naga! She can track Korra!

Tenzin:
I'm afraid her polar bear dog is missing as well.

Mako:

Asami Sato:
What if Korra's not down there?

Mako:
Then we pick another tunnel until we find her!

Lin Beifong:
Hate to break up your lovers' reunion, but Korra's in trouble. Amon captured her.

Mako:

Asami Sato:
Hey, is Mako alright? He seems really worried about Korra.

Bolin:
Yeah, we all are.

Asami Sato:
I know, but... he's your brother. Do you think that he likes Korra as more than just a friend?

Bolin:
What? No! That's- that's just gossip, where'd you hear that? Crazy talk is coming outta your mouth right now...

Asami Sato:
What do you know Bolin? Come on, spill it.

Bolin:
Nothing! I mean, there was this one time, during the tournament when Mako and Korra kissed but...

Asami Sato:

Bolin:
Believe me, I was upset too, but I'm over it. I don't think it meant anything.

Asami Sato:
I doubt that.

Lin Beifong:
I'm too late. That monster already took your bending didn't he? I'm so sorry.

Bailiff:
Councilman Sokka will now deliver the verdict.

Sokka:
In my years, I've encountered people born with rare and unique bending abilities. I once bested a man with my trusty boomerang who was able to firebend with his mind. Why, even metalbending was considered impossible for all of history until our esteemed Chief of Police, Toph Beifong, singlehandedly developed the skill. The overwhelming amount of testimony and evidence has convinced this council that Yakone is one of these unique benders and he exploited his ability to commit these heinous crimes. We find Yakone guilty of all charges and sentence him to life in prison.

Lin Beifong:
I scanned the entire prison. Korra's not here.

Mako:
Why would Tarrlok make up a story about getting attacked?

Tenzin:
Because he has Korra. He fooled us all!

Korra:
Aang, this whole time. You were trying to warn me about Tarrlok.

Amon:
I'll take care of him. You four retrieve the Avatar. Do not underestimate her. Electrocute the box to knock her out before you open it.

Lieutenant:
My pleasure.

Korra:
Naga. You came looking for me. Good girl.

Mako:
That sounds like Naga! Down there!

[They see a hurt Korra on Naga's back]

Tenzin:
Korra! Oh, thank goodness.

Lin Beifong:
Where's Tarrlok? How did you get away?

Mako:
Give her some space!

[picks her up and carries her to Oogi]

Mako:
I was so worried. Are you all right?

Korra:
I'm fine. I'm glad you're here.

Mako:
You're safe now.

Tarrlok:
Have you news of Avatar Korra?

Tenzin:
We do. You kidnapped her, Tarrlok!

Tarrlok:
I am shocked you would accuse me of such an evil act! I already explained: Equalists attacked us and took her!

Tenzin:
But there were no chi-blockers here last night. You planted the evidence, didn't you?

Tarrlok:
That is a ridiculous accusation!

Council Page:
It's true! He took her! I was here when Avatar Korra arrived last night, but Councilman Tarrlok ordered me to leave. I was on my way out when I saw Tarrlok bring her down to the garage.

Tarrlok:
That is nonsense! Everyone knows you're nothing but a squeaky-voiced liar!

Lin Beifong:
Why did you wait until now to 'fess up?

Council Page:
I was terrified to tell because... Because Tarrlok is a bloodbender! He bloodbent Avatar Korra!

Tenzin:
Don't make this worse for yourself. Tell us where you have Korra!

[Tarrlok bloodbends them and runs]

Bolin:
Ughh! Man! I had this awful dream that Korra was taken by this evil bloodbender. So weird.

Asami Sato:
Bolin, that really happened. He knocked us out.

Bolin:
Are you serious? Where is he? Is he here right now?

Saikhan:
Tarrlok is long gone. I'll alert the whole force.

Lin Beifong:

I was his son, but in order to win Republic City, I had to become someone else. My father failed because he tried to rule the city from its rotten underbelly. My plan was perfect. I was to be the city's savior. But you, you ruined everything!

Korra:
Tarrlok, the jig is up and you have nowhere to go.

Tarrlok:
Oh no. No, I'll escape and start a new life. And you're coming as my hostage.

[grabs him and takes his bending away]

[electricutes the box, but Korra is holding on to a harm band not touching it]

[Korra jumps up and attacks them. She escapes to see Amon and snowbends away from him, down a hill]

I thought I told you not to underestimate her.

Bolin:
Try to chi-block that, fools!

Tarrlok:
W-what are you?

Amon:
I am the solution.

Hiroshi Sato:
It is a glorious day, my Equalist brothers and sisters! Amon has torn down the tyrannical bending government! He has declared bending illegal and he has the Avatar on the run. And so did my brother. The revolution may be built on a lie, but I think Amon truly believes bending is the source of all evil in the world.

Korra:
This whole time, Amon has been one step ahead of us. But finally we have the advantage. We know the truth about him. If we expose him as a bender in front of all his supporters...

Mako:

Korra:
...we could take away his true power!

Mako:
And undermine this whole revolution!

Korra:
We can't just leave him here.

Tarrlok:

Lin Beifong:

But, she is wrong. The only thing bending has brought to the world, is suffering. It has been the cause of every war in every era. But that is about to change. I know you have been wondering, "What is the Revelation?" You are about to get your answer. Since the beginning of time, the spirits have acted as guardians of our world, and they have spoken to me. They say the Avatar has failed humanity. That is why the spirits have chosen me to usher in a new era of balance. They have granted me a power that will make Equality a reality.
