Charles Grey:

Mack Gerhardt:

Hector Williams:

Mack Gerhardt:
They're taking our flight to La Paz. Pack it in. We're standing down.

Bob Brown:

Mack Gerhardt:
Hey - "sorry" is what you tell your girlfriend when you finish too quick. Enough "sorry."

Jonas Blane:
You know, last we heard, you were dead.

Agent Kern:
Dewey defeats Truman.

Jonas Blane:
Bob Brown, in particular, is most curious to learn of your recovery.

Agent Kern:

[to Kim, who has packed her car to leave the base] You say you love him. Now are you brave enough to act on it? Ron Cheals:
[On the telephone, ordering an airplane to be made ready] Yeah, with a pilot would be good, but a key in the ignition would suffice.

Kim Brown:

Molly Blane:
You aren't in the Army. You're in the Unit.

Jonas Blane:
This is my house, here, which means that's your house, there.

Bob Brown:
I don't even have a key.

Jonas Blane:
Well, there's not much crime in this neighborhood.

Bob 'Cool Breeze' Brown:
[Jonas has asked about the plane] We got it covered; we've double-checked everything.

Jonas 'Snake Doctor' Blane:

Bob Brown:

Chaplain Lantz:

Chaplain Lantz:
It says, thou shall not murder. Ok the two words in Hebrew are quite distinct and so the use is quite intentional. Murder is the unnecessary and immoral taking of life.

Bob Brown:
Well, is the taking of life ever necessary?

Chaplain Lantz:
You *know* that it is. Would you ever kill an intruder that came to your home in the middle of the night to harm your family? Would you?

Bob Brown:
Some say that taking of life is never justified.

Chaplain Lantz:
Those people, soldier, employ others to protect them so that they will never have to face that choice. Do you hear me?

Bob Brown:
Yeah, I hear you.

Chaplain Lantz:

Chaplain Lantz:

Jonas Blaine:

[Blaine narrows his eyes]

Dr. Donald Metz:
[Nodding in satisfaction] Glaser rounds.

Dr. Donald Metz:

Jonas Blane:
You know what inspiration is? The momentary cessation of stupidity.

Mack Gerhardt:
[Speaking of Metz] Who the Hell gave him any power?

Bob Brown:
You heard him: he held a weapon in Desert Shield.

Charles Grey:
[laughing] Is that what he was holding?

Jonas Blane:
You know, a month's salary says he never made it out of his hotel room in Kuwait.

Mack Gerhardt:
If that guy has seen more than an hour of combat, I'm gonna have to restructure my entire vision of the world.

Agent Bluman:

Bob 'Cool Breeze' Brown:

Exactly. But each soldier in the Unit carries his own body bag, and until you carry one you don't deserve to talk to my men about their code.They signed on to not exist, for them there is no legacy. These men die for each other, not for you, or for your boss. These men are warriors. You think you need to remind them about their codes of silence? They answer to a higher code, friend.

Kevin Sack:
Let's keep this meeting on point. Your man attacked me.

Colonel Tom Ryan:
A seriously wounded man on his back attacked YOU?

Kevin Sack:
Yes.

Colonel Tom Ryan:

[steps to the pulpit] Blane!

Mack Gerhardt:
You pack a .45 instead of a 9?

Bridget Sullivan:

Mack Gerhardt:

Jonas Blane:

Colonel Tom Ryan:

Tiffy Gerhardt:
C'mon in out of the cold, Colonel.

Jonas Blane:

Darryl:

Colonel Tom Ryan:
War, Ms Brown is waste and chaos. Thats what it is. And it is.

Colonel Tom Ryan:

Colonel Tom Ryan:
War is an obscenity and we say however that it is preferable to subjugation. And it is.

Colonel Tom Ryan:
Time and place and the cause of war however we may characterise it is, is most times beyond our control. And they are most certainly beyond the control of a soldier. All soldiers suffer in war and their families suffer equally.

Bob Brown:
Now a chicken - same size as a man's head. And that's what you want - a head shot - 'cause it's more sincere.

Jonas 'Snake Doctor' Blane:
[Jonas has discovered the missing money in their account] How do I earn my money? I do not make cornflakes for a living. Bob Brown:

Your estranged husband runs off with your kids. Your best friend goes on vacation in a foreign land and disappears. Eventually, bad things find us all. You ever hear of the Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free card? This is a Get-Out-of-Hell card. At some point in your life, God forbid, you have no where else to turn, call that number. That is why you are going to postpone your job.

Susan Abernathy:

Jonas Blane:
Remember when your mama said "It could be worse"? This is what she was talking about.

Bob Brown:
