It says, thou shall not murder. Ok the two words in Hebrew are quite distinct and so the use is quite intentional. Murder is the unnecessary and immoral taking of life.

Bob Brown:
Well, is the taking of life ever necessary?

Chaplain Lantz:
You *know* that it is. Would you ever kill an intruder that came to your home in the middle of the night to harm your family? Would you?

Bob Brown:
Some say that taking of life is never justified.

Chaplain Lantz:
Those people, soldier, employ others to protect them so that they will never have to face that choice. Do you hear me?

Bob Brown:
