We vampires come from two classes: the blue-bloods, who are true vampires, like yourself, and those like me who were chosen by their masters to become vampires - the Ludo.

Ryuhei Mido:

Elfriede:
Kouhei-san, I need your blood. The other day, it was to gain freedom, but this time it's to defeat the master, to destroy Count Kinkel.

Hiromi Anzai:
The Mido Family is a famous family known for their psychic powers. Before Uncle Ryuhei began his antique shop, he also worked as a psychic like Seiji-sensei. Why would those who are not slaves protect you?

Elfriede:
What a fortunate child. She acts freely and willfully, yet everyone around her tries to protect her. She is free and she is loved. I envy that.

Kouhei Morioka:
If it's true that forgetful people are the happiest, then we sure got a lot of happy people around.

Elfriede:
Human blood is how we vampires sustain our own powers. Immortal blood, the blood of other vampires, is how we obtain new ones.

Kouhei Morioka:
Whadda you mean?

Elfriede:
You see, power, like my ability to summon how the count used to manipulate light, can be absorbed by any other vampire if he drinks our blood; so, if one of us desires a new power, we have only to find another vampire who has it. Of course, few vampires will share their powers willingly.

Elfriede:
In the vampire world, whoever has the greatest power will always rule.

Ryuuhei:
After all, that little girl holds the cure to their greatest weakness.

Elfriede:

Kouhei Morioka:

Hazuki:
If these two grubby freaks start grubby-hitting our stuff and moving it all around, we'll never be able to find anything in the kitchen again!

Kouhei Morioka:
Yeah, like we can find anything in there now.

Haiji:

Kouhei Morioka:

[Overly concerned for his health, the girls wrap Kouhei in a blanket, shove a thermometer in his mouth, and put an ice bag on his head]

[in unison] Feel better?

Kouhei Morioka:
[sarcastically] Oh, definitely. The thermometer really did the trick, thanks.

Hazuki, Hikaru, Kaoru:
[gasping in unison] Really? I'll go get another one!

Kouhei Morioka:
[worn but kindly] Come back here. I was just kidding.

Hazuki:
I don't mean to be so rude all the time, but they keep pissing me off.

Kouhei Morioka:
Hazuki, why are you outside, and what the hell are you wearing?

Hazuki:
I'm wearing my anti-sun cat suit. Meow! Now I can take the lobotomy twins to the hospital and the sun can't get to me, so you can stay home.

Kouhei Morioka:

Hazuki:

Hazuki:
[indicating Kouhei] Then why doesn't it work on him?

Ryuhei Mido:
[considering carefully] Well, he's... He's denser than a dreadnought. That's why spells and curses have no effect on him.

Selene:
Hazuki, when you find someone you truly love, you must not seal the blood pact with him.

Kinkel:

Kouhei:

What an interesting development! Eternal life can be so boring at times. After awhile you've seen it all, but THIS... this is entirely new. How did the slave break her chains? Now THAT is a real enigma worth pondering.

Kouhei:

Kinkel:
An utter failure, spurned by too many unknowns, but now the truth is exposed. Order in the vampire clan is maintained by the sacred heiarchy built on the power of blood ties, and order must be restored.

Kinkel:

Kouhei Morioka:

Hazuki:

Kouhei Morioka:

Hazuki:
No thanks. I don't need these.

Kouhei Morioka:
Don't need 'em? You can't fish without bait. What are you, nuts?

Hazuki:
It's all about spirit and determination!

Kouhei Morioka:
So that's a yes then.

K?hei Morioka:
Hazuki!

Hazuki:

K?hei Morioka:

Hazuki:

Ryuhei Mido:

K?hei Morioka:

Ryuhei Mido:
Although that child doesn't realize she's using it.

K?hei Morioka:
Charm, huh? Whatever. A child has grown men wrapped around her little fingers.

Ryuhei Mido:

K?hei Morioka:

[Kouhei awakens to find Hazuki sitting on his legs]

Hazuki:
Kouhei?

K?hei Morioka:

Hazuki:

K?hei Morioka:
Huh?

Hazuki:
My mind feels so heavy, and I'm gritting my teeth, and I'm so thirsty. I want you to fulfill your role as my slave.

K?hei Morioka:
What's with you anyway? You never said anything about wanting blood since you came here! Why now?

Hazuki:
It's the full moon! Vampires have a craving for blood during the full moon. That's common knowledge!

K?hei Morioka:
Never heard of that.

Hazuki:
Ignoramus! Dense!

K?hei Morioka:
Being dense has nothing to do with this!

Hazuki:
This is a basic biological need! I have to have blood!

[Street toughs have beaten Kouhei senseless]

Hazuki:

Elfriede:
You've seen some of what the count can do. Taking on other forms - that's his greatest power. He can bend the light surrounding him to create an image, any appearance he chooses, or just curve the rays around himself, disappear entirely, make it so the sunlight never touches his body at all. That's how he survived for 900 years, through plagues, hunts, crusades. He's mastered the most valuable power any vampire can possess. He's a day-walker.

Kinkel:
You humans, always so noble when you are about to die.

Elfriede:
If I'm a fool for wanting to free myself from you, then I choose to revel in my foolishness.

Kinkel:
Well, congratulations. You caught me by surprise. I think that deserves a reward. Tell you what, hand over Mistress Luna and the Vampire's Lover, and the rest of you can escape with your lives.

Ryuuhei:

Kinkel:
Call it a gift of good will.

Ryuuhei:
We already made gold from earth. Now let's see if we can make wood from water.

Kinkel:
You already sealed his fate a long time ago. From the time you accepted the help of this human and his friends, you were headed toward this very moment. You chose his death when you chose him.

Hazuki:

Kouhei Morioka:

Hazuki:

Kouhei Morioka:

Elfriede:
Because if I kissed Ryuuhei, he would become my obedient slave, following me around like some mindless animal. Our dear Kouhei, on the other hand, is the Vampire's Lover, so I could kiss him with no effect.

Ryuuhei:
Actually... being a slave sounds pretty good.

[second pan lands on Grandpa's head]

Hazuki:
Kouhei's MY slave and I'm not gonna share him!

Hikaru:
Wrong, fang-head! Kaoru's his fianc?e, so SHE'S got dibs.

Hazuki:
Don't start with THAT stupid claim again. It just makes things more complicated.

Elfriede:
Someone should make use of him if you're too shy.

Hazuki:

Elfriede:

I guess the important thing is you're eating again, right? So, if you want tea, you'll have to drink my hair.

A powerful psychic? THIS Kouhei? No way! He's, like, the most psychically dense person on the planet!

Yayoi:
Try to picture it: a child in constant contact with the supernatural, seeming to talk to empty spaces, warning of demons no one else could see. People would fear and mock him, turn him into an outcast, but that's not all. Psychics and spirits attract each other. If he saw them, they could see him, too. We were afraid he'd be attacked or possessed.

Yayoi:
Jagan is like a violent tiger, and controlling it takes great mental strength. No one from the Mido clan has ever been able to do it successfully. You WILL suffer.

Yayoi:
Once I've removed the seal, you're forbidden to see Hazuki until you have full control of your Jagan power.

Yayoi:

Jeda:

Yayoi:

Luna:

Seiji:

Hazuki's Mother:
[a voice] Hazuki, it's okay. I need you to listen to me now.

Hazuki:

Kouhei Morioka:
Come on, Gramps. Did you really have to move into a private V.I.P. suite? These rooms are expensive. How are you supposed to pay for it? Please don't tell me you're auctioning the house.

Ryuuhei:
