Capt. Bukowski:
You recruits will now experience, without benefit of breathing apparatus, the full impact of inhaling smoke. Your mission is to locate and rescue the victims. The mannequins are 150 pounds of dead weight so watch your backs! Go get 'em, people.

[the recruits split into 2 groups; 4 firefighters enter the ground level while the other 6, including Cindy, go up the stairs to the 2nd floor where they meet a choking cloud of thick gray smoke]
