King's Quest I: Quest for the Crown1990

Narrator:
That's odd why aren't the guards at their post. [Sir Graham stands at the castle gate and orders the gate to open. Then the gate raises up and walks inside the castle]

Narrator:
More curious still, the courtyard is deserted; this area is usually filled with the ladies and lords of the castle. This is highly unusual. You begin to feel deeply disturbed, as if all is not right within the castle. You can faintly hear a commotion in the kings chamber to the west. [Sir Graham walks through the courtyard and walks into the throne room where the crowd of people are watching the doctor trying to save King Edward]

Doctor:
There's nothing to be done. The king's melancholy is too much for his heart to bear. Perhaps if Sir Graham had returned with the three lost treasures of Daventry. [Sir Graham walks into the throne room]

People of Daventry:
Gasp! It's Sir Graham! He's returned! Did he find the treasures? Shhhhh! Listen! [Sir Graham kneels and takes off his cap]

Sir Graham:
Your highness I am at your service.

King Edward:
Did... Did you succeed in your quest?

Sir Graham:
I did your majesty. Here as you commanded... [Sir Graham stands up and puts his cap on and walks over to the side of the throne chair]

Sir Graham:
The magic mirror. [He sets the magic mirror on the floor]

Sir Graham:
The magic shield. [He sets the magic shield on the floor]

Sir Graham:
And the magic chest. [He sets the magic treasure chest on the floor. Then he takes off his cap and kneels before the king. King Edward stands up and walks but he quickly collapses to the floor]

King Edward:
I... I'm afraid it's a little too late for me. But as you have done superbly, my knight. As I promised, the kingdom is yours. I know you will serve her well. [Then King Edward dies]

Doctor:
The king is dead. Long live the king! [the doctor picks up the crown and puts it on Sir Grahams head]

People of Daventry:
Long live the king!

Narrator:
And thus ended Sir Graham's great quest for the lost treasures of Daventry. Despite the loss of their beloved King Edward, the people of Daventry grew happy and prosperous and flourished for years to come. And whenever King Graham looked into his magic mirror, he saw visions of adventures yet to come... for him, for his children, and for Daventry, the land he loved so much. The end.
