Runaway Car1997
Ed Lautner:
You promised me Friday, it's Friday. What the heck am I supposed to do now?
Garage Supervisor:
I'm sorry, Mr. Lautner, it's not quite ready yet.
Ed Lautner:
Not quite ready? Look at this. My car is, laid out like somebody's science project.
Garage Supervisor:
Well, w'we gave you that estimate before we understood the extend of the damage. [to Jenny Todd] Could I help you, miss?
Jenny Todd:
Um, Yes. You said my car was ready.
Ed Lautner:
You realize I scheduled my life, around you promise, that my car would be ready, Friday.
Garage Supervisor:
[to Jenny Todd] It looks like you're all set. [to Ed Lautner] I'm sorry Mr. Lautner.
Ed Lautner:
I appreciate that, I really do, but I've got that most important meeting of MY LIFE! This morning, and um, I'm stuck without a car.
Jenny Todd:
Excuse me, sir. Who do I speak to about my car, what was done to it?
Garage Supervisor:
Well... [interrupted by Ed Lautner] .
Ed Lautner:
Can you believe this? Do you have a loaner?
Garage Supervisor:
We don't provide that. [to Jenny Todd] What did you want to know?
Jenny Todd:
Uh Well, I, I would like to know what exactly was done to it [interrupted by Ed Lautner] .
Ed Lautner:
So, I have to rent a car?
Garage Supervisor:
I would suggest that. [to Jenny Todd] The retainer clip, on your vac [pause] , do you know anything about cars?
Jenny Todd:
No, not really.
Garage Supervisor:
Than, it's a good thing we're here, huh?
Jenny Todd:
Yes, it is.
Garage Supervisor:
We took, GOOD car of it. Just go see the cashier.
Ed Lautner:
So where do I rent a car?
Garage Supervisor:
Well, there's uh, A1 Rent-A-Car, it's about six or seven miles, right of that way.
Ed Lautner:
Uh huh, So [pause] , how do I get there?
Garage Supervisor:
Oh, well, Jose can take ya. Uh, [to Mechanic, shouting] Johnny! Where's Jose? When he say he'll be back?
Mechanic:
I don't know!
Ed Lautner:
[to himself] Oh my God.
