And if you make it your mission to seek out someone to shed a tear for Jacob Marley, I fear you will be sorely disappointed.

Bucket (2015):
He wasn't well liked?

Ebeneezer Scrooge:
He was a moneylender. We're liked enough at the start of the arrangement; despised at the end of it. Your problem, Inspector, will not be discovering who hated Jacob Marley enough to kill him, but rather finding someone who didn't.
