Capt Jonathan Hays:

Priscilla:
[a 2-D sketch of a humanoid appears on the screen] Captain Jacob Dryden Brown, class of 2074. Graduated third in class.

Jake:
I got a C in weightlessness training, brought down my grade point average.

Priscilla:
[Continues analysis] Assigned as Captain of the Vanguard Explorer in the year 2080. Ship vanished in 2082. All aboard, declared dead.

Jake:
Surprise.

Dr. Sally Arthur:
Captain Brown! Did anyone else from the Vanguard Explorer survive?

Jake:
[Jake approaches Sally]

Dr. Sally Arthur:
My brother was on your ship. Lieutenant Vance Arthur?

Jake:
Sorry.

Capt Jonathan Hays:
What happened to your ship?

Jake:
It was destroyed.

Dr. Sally Arthur:
And how did you escape?

Jake:
In a capsule.

Huxley Welles:
So much for the captain going down with his ship.

Jake:
If it's all the same to you, I'd like to speak with your commanding officer.

Capt Jonathan Hays:
I'm the commanding officer.

Jake:
How long before we get back to Earth?

Capt Jonathan Hays:
26 years. We're on a exploratory mission to Berinsten's Star.

Jake:
Just my luck. I finally catch a ride and it's going the wrong direction.
