Did he ever tell you about the letter he sent me? It was almost two and a half years ago. There were a few candidates I was looking at for helm officer. I was having a little trouble deciding. So I contacted their former COs, hoping for a more personal evaluation.

Ensign Travis Mayweather:

He wrote the shortest recommendation - just one sentence. He said... he'd never met a more natural stick and rudder man in his life; and I'd be a fool if I didn't choose you. When I saw how you handled yourself at the helm... I knew he was right.
