No, Edwin, I won't buy you a cadaver!

[walking away from the goth kid he took in]

Laurie Freeman:
Mr. Denby, you look tired.

Max Denby:
Oh course I'm tired; if you'd been up all night holding a rifle, you'd be tired, too!

Laurie Freeman:
What happened?

Max Denby:
Well, Edwin gave me one of his stories to read.

Laurie Freeman:
Well, that's a break through, sir - that's a symbol of trust.

Max Denby:
[looking at the papers Edwin gave him] The story is called "The Horrible Tortue and Underground Death of Mr. Denby".

Laurie Freeman:
Oh, well. No, no, you see Mr. Denby, that, that's creative writing. Young boys that age have a very active fantasy life.

Max Denby:
Yeah, well, here's a little bit of youthful whimsy

[flipping a page]

Max Denby:
Chapter one: I know you're reading this and I'm planning to kill you!
