Phoebus was one of Germany's great film production companies. It was exceptional not only because it regularly produced films, but it also distributed them and had its own movie complex in the center of Berlin, in the Kurf?rstendamm. So it had a chain of premiere movie theaters that exerted its muscle to ensure that those films were distributed across the whole of the German Reich.
