Emily:
[opening voiceover] Destiny... to believe that a life is meant for a single purpose, one must also believe in a common fate. Father to daughter, brother to sister, mother to child, blood ties can be as unyielding as they are eternal. But it is our bonds of choice that truly light the road we travel... love versus hatred, loyalty against betrayal. A person's true destiny can only be revealed at the end of his journey. And the story I have to tell is far from over.

Emily Thorne:
[closing voiceover] Some say that to believe in destiny is to dismiss the role of free will. That self-determination cannot prevail in the presence of fate. When the truth is, the only part of destiny we can control is the fate we choose for another.

Satoshi:
You've already failed to kill the murderer of your father. Who's to say he won't come for you again?

Emily:
I'm counting on it, Takeda. He might be the only person left who knows what happened to her.

Satoshi:
You would throw away your training on the unsupported assumption that your mother remains alive.

Emily:
Dead or alive, I'm gonna find out what happened to her, and when I do... God help the people who kept me from her, and that includes you.

Emily:
[opening voiceover] For those who believe in resurrection, death is inconsequential. It's not an ending, but rather a new beginning... a second chance. A reunion. But the very idea of resurrection is so seductive a concept, it's easy to forget, before you can rise from the dead... you have to spend a few days in hell.

Emily:
[closing voiceover] For those who believe in the resurrection, death is inconsequential. In the resurrection, those that were dead live, and those who live believe they shall never die.

Nolan:
Don't you think it's a little bit dangerous to be catnapping out in the open? Or are you actually baiting the white-haired Mannibal Lecter to come for you?

Emily:
He's not gonna kill me.

Nolan:
: Oh, really? Did he pinkie swear?

Nolan:
I don't think my employees have any respect for me.

Emily:
Why would they? You're not wearing pants.

Nolan Ross:
Well, I mean, they don't know that. You know, I once did a video interview with Katie Couric butt-naked in my jacuzzi. She had no idea.

Emily:
[opening voiceover] In a race between danger and indecision, the difference between life and death comes down to confidence. Faith in our abilities, certainty in ourselves, and the trust we put in others.

Emily:
[opening voiceover] Some think intuition is a gift. But it can be a curse, as well. A voice calling us from places that are better left unexplored. An echo of memories that will never die, no matter how hard we try to kill them.

Emily:
[closing voiceover] When at a crossroads, my father was fond of saying "Go with your gut." Intuition, he said, always has our best interests at heart. It is a voice that can tell us who is friend and who is foe. Which ones to hold at arm's length, and which ones to keep close. But too often, we become distracted by fear, doubt, our own stubborn hopes, and refuse to listen.

Emily:
[opening voiceover] They say let he who is without sin cast the first stone. And to be without sin requires absolute forgiveness. But when your memories are freshly opened wounds, forgiveness is the most unnatural of human emotions.

Emily:
[closing voiceover] Over time, we commit acts with intentions, either good or bad, that require forgiveness.

Victoria:
All men are born hardwired to betray. It's just a question of when.

Victoria:
And here I thought you were offering me a way out of this.

Conrad:
Never.

Emily:
[opening voiceover] If we choose to, we can live in a world of comforting illusion. We can allow ourselves to be deceived by false realities... or we can use them to hide our true intentions.

Emily:
[closing voiceover] To successfully create illusion, the first thing you need is trust. But to perfect an illusion, the false reality must appear as authentic as the one it hides. Careful attention must be paid to every detail. The slightest of imperfections can, like a pin to a balloon, burst the illusion. And the truth behind the illusion becomes revealed.

Victoria':
They said it would take an act of Congress to get you out on bail tonight.

Conrad:
No, no. No, all it really took was the Initiative.

Victoria:
What did you promise them?

Conrad:
I don't think I'll know until it's too late.

Nolan:
Hey Nolan, this one time at revenge camp, I met this fellow avenger and guess where he's going to be summering?

Emily:
[opening voiceover] Penance is a sacrifice. A voluntary punishment to show remorse for a sin. The more grievous the sin, the greater the self-inflicted suffering. For some, the ultimate penance is death. But for others, it is simply a means to an end.

Emily:
[closing voiceover] To properly do penance, one must express contrition for one's sins, and perform acts to repair the damage caused by those transgressions. It is only when those acts are complete that the slate can truly be wiped clean, and amnesty gives way to a new beginning.

Mason:
You know, it's amazing what you can find when you know what you're looking for.

Nolan:
Marco, wait. About the missing money... it all went to the daughter of our first investor.

Marco:
What investor, Nolan? Who are you talking about?

Nolan:
David Clarke.

Marco:
What?

Nolan:
After the conviction, I set up the account so his daughter could get what was rightfully hers.

Marco:
After the con... Are you insane?

Nolan:
You don't know the whole story. David was innocent.

Marco:
Okay, you are insane if you believe those conspiracy theories. Think about how this looks, Nolan, for you, for the company. You are Nolan Ross. That name means something now.

Nolan:
There would be no company without David, and look, I wasn't about to screw over his daughter after everything that she had been through. If you don't get that, then I don't think we have a future together.

Marco:
Wow. Um... Okay, you are choosing a convicted terrorist over me.

Nolan:
No. I'm choosing a man that took me at my word over my name.

Daniel:
Is this Marco Romero?

Marco:
Who is this? Do you know what time it is?

Daniel:
Oh, it's late. My apologies. My name's Daniel Grayson with Grayson Global. I have a business proposition for you. One that involves Nolcorp.

Marco:
[his interest piquing] I'm listening.

Emily:
[closing voiceover] Revelations can help us accept the things we need the most. Expose the secrets we so desperately try to hide. And illuminate the dangers all around us. But more than anything, revelations are windows into our true selves... both the good and the evil. And those wavering somewhere in between... with the ultimate power to destroy all that we cherish most.

Nolan:
[approaching Emily and Aiden] Sacrificial lamb, reporting for the slaughter. I wasn't expecting an actual firing squad.

Nolan:
Okay, Ems. I can't say you didn't warn me about that tricky little bastard. God, Danny boy really learned how to play dirty.

Nolan:
Unpleasant? Pshaw. Isn't it every man's dream to give over 49 percent of his company to a hostile conglomerate?

Nolan:
Well bros before hos only works if he's not still in love with the ho, bro.

Emily:
[opening voiceover] Power... born out of nature, coveted by man. Wars rage on, and victors are crowned... But true power can never be lost or won. True power comes from within.

Emily:
[closing voiceover] Power can be hoarded by the mighty, or stolen from the innocent. Power provides the ability to choose... but has a proclivity for corruption. The use of power is not to be taken lightly... for it is never without consequence.

Daniel:
Nolan. I see you found my office.

Nolan:
Isn't this where I wait to get my Grayson Global ID badge?

Daniel:
When I said I wanted to meet, I figured we'd get one on the books.

Nolan:
Haven't you heard? Books are obsolete.

Emily:
[opening voiceover] They say the best-laid plans often go awry. Because no matter how detailed the preparation, a plan will always have a weak point. And there will always be those looking to exploit it... to doom a plan to failure, and the perpetrator along with it.

Emily:
[closing voiceover] Every plan has a fatal flaw. Sometimes it's the heart... even in those who are supposed to be the most careful. But a careful nature doesn't always ensure success. When a plan is built on an unstable foundation, failure is not only a possibility, it's a certainty.

Daniel:
Did I tell you how beautiful you look in that dress?

Emily:
[amused laugh] Twice, actually.

Daniel:
Well, what can I say? Some things are worth repeating.

Emily:
[opening voiceover] Every human is born of collusion. We come into this world the result of a covenant. Sometimes made of love... sometimes of circumstance... but almost always made in secret.

Emily:
[opening voiceover] In its purest form, a union becomes part of our very essence. But when that bond is broken... our essence is forever changed.

Emily:
[closing voiceover] From the moment we're born, we're drawn to form a union with others. An abiding drive to connect, to love... to belong. In a perfect union, we find the strength we cannot find in ourselves. But the strength of the union cannot be known until it is tested.

Victoria:
Daniel, must we continue this endless display of animosity? I don't know how much longer I can weather this.

Daniel:
Emily came clean about how you manipulated her into spying on me. It's pathetic.

Victoria:
The fact that she agreed to my proposition should call her own motives into question.

Daniel:
Oh, say what you will about Emily, but at least she had the courage to tell me the truth. Which is more than I can say about you.

Emily:
[opening voiceover] Sacrifice, by its strictest definition, takes something precious in exchange for the appeasement of a higher power. An abiding devotion to a cause that cannot be satisfied with a simple promise. Because an oath, no matter how solemn, asks nothing in return. While true sacrifice... demands unspeakable loss.

Emily:
[closing voiceover] Sacrifice demands the surrender of things we cherish above all else. Only out of the agony of those losses can a new resolution be born... An undying devotion to a cause greater than one's self... And a moral duty to see a journey through... to its absolute completion.

Conrad:
Congratulations, Victoria. With one bullet, you've slaughtered us all.

Emily:
[opening voiceover] In its purest form, an act of retribution provides symmetry... The rendering of payment for crimes against the innocent. But the danger of retaliation lies in furthering the cycle of violence. Still, it's a risk that must be met, when the greater offense is to allow the guilty to go unpunished.

Daniel:
You never sent me the report I asked for detailing your abandoned R&D.

Nolan:
Yeah. Guess I kind of forgot about it.

Daniel:
No, see, I don't think you did. I think you don't want me to know about Carrion, and you'd rather get fired than tell me what it does.

Nolan:
Let's see if you're right. Fire me.

Daniel:
[whispering] Nolan, if I find out you've done anything other than destroy that program, I won't just fire you. I will cripple you with lawsuits and make sure you never write another line of code again. You got it?

Nolan:
Control, alt, delete. Got it.

Aiden:
[returning Emily's laptop] Back in your hands, where it belongs, for you to do with as you wish.

Aiden:
What are you doing?

Emily:
Protecting Jack, like I said I would.

Aiden :
The evidence on that laptop could send the Graysons away for lifetimes.

Emily:
The kind of punishment I came here for had nothing to do with prison. That computer was never part of the plan. It only clouded my judgment.

Aiden:
So, back to basics?

Emily:
No more distractions.

Emily Thorne:
I've retraced every step Amanda made. The computer's nowhere to be found.

Nolan:
Well, nothing's pinged on my end, so no one's turned the computer on, which means the Graysons don't have it, either. And they may be losing Daniel, too.

Emily:
What do you mean?

Emily:
He's having a crisis of conscience.

Nolan:
Or maybe he's just freaked out to realize he's actually got one.

Emily:
[opening voiceover] In the art of war, if you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the approaching battles. But if you know only yourself and not your enemy... for every victory, there will also be defeat.

Emily:
[Padma has been captured by the Initiative] Did you track the source of the text?

Emily:
Then, Nolan, you need to get started. Look at me. I know you that are hurting, but you need to stop blaming yourself, get on your computer, and dig until you find them. And I swear to God, when you do, I will help you save her. I give you my word.

Emily:
[opening voiceover] A person's true identity can often be difficult to discern... even to themselves. Causing one to question their character, their calling, their very existence. For most, time provides clarity. But for others, these questions remain unanswered. For an identity cannot be fully defined, when it is a guarded secret.

Jack:
I don't think that Conrad and Allison are having an affair. Is she even his type?

Ashley:
She's a woman.

Jack:
Something else is going on. But what could it be?

Ashley:
I couldn't say, but after years spent in the revolving door of Grayson Manor, I do know one thing. Conrad has a tell. It betrays when he's lying.

Jack:
He opens his mouth?

Aiden:
As much as I hate to say it, shouldn't you be with Daniel right about now?

Emily:
I was. Daniel's pushing me to define our relationship.

Aiden:
What, are you asking me for my permission?

Emily:
I don't know.

Aiden:
Well, this was your plan all along, wasn't it? Rip the golden boy away from his family, tear the Graysons apart from the inside? Leave them broken, powerless.

Emily:
Yes.

Aiden:
Well, then tell me this one thing. When this is all over, when... when they've paid for what they did to your father, then what?

Emily:
I can be with you.

Aiden:
[picking up the ring and putting it on Emily's finger] Then marry the son of a bitch. And take them down, once and for all.

Emily:
[opening voiceover] Engagement can be a commitment to love, or a declaration of war. One must enter every battle without hesitation, willing to fully engage the enemy, till death do you part.

Jack:
Thought you went to school.

Declan:
Charlotte flaked on me again. She was supposed to drive me.

Jack:
Does it have anything to do with that paparazzi video of her with that girl? Why didn't you talk to me about it, man? I gotta hear about it from a group of barflies? What's going on?

Declan:
She's in a really dark place and she's... she has been ever since Amanda...

Jack:
She into drugs again?

Declan:
I don't know. I don't know, maybe. It's pretty hard for me to tell with her blowing me off every day.

Jack:
[Declan takes a handful of bills from the bar's tip jar] What are you...?

Declan:
I need money for bus fare.

Jack:
How many buses are you taking?

Declan:
Hey, do you know why you're supposed to bury a politician a hundred feet down? 'Cause deep down, they're really good people.

Emily:
[opening voiceover] Darkness scares us. We yearn for the comfort of light, as it provides shape and form, allowing us to recognize, to define what's before us. But what is it we're afraid of, really? Not the darkness itself, but the truth we know hides within.

Charlotte:
Look, you're not gonna tell mom and dad about me being pregnant, are you?

Daniel:
You think that's a conversation I want to be a part of?

Newscaster #1:
All five New York City boroughs and additional outlying areas have been completely powerless for going on five hours. Thus far, authorities are at a loss to explain how multiple power grids, in addition to numerous communication networks could have all failed at once...

Nolan:
Carrion.

Aiden:
But I thought the only person with the ability to activate the program was the Falcon. How could she do that if she's behind bars?

Emily:
She didn't have to. You did it for her.

Nolan:
Emily's right. The Falcon must have altered Carrion so that when we hacked the Amanda Clarke Foundation...

Aiden:
It triggered the chain reaction.

Emily:
And she made sure that you used Aiden's administration code to set everything in motion. Everything that we did to prevent this...

Aiden:
Will now prove that I caused it.

Nolan:
And we don't even know what they're going to do while the lights are out. This could be catastrophic!

Emily:
Aiden, you need to go dark.

Aiden:
No, I can take care of this...

'Emily:
[interrupting] No, you listen to me. I have been through this before. I'm not gonna sit back and watch the Initiative turn you into their next David Clarke.

Declan:
You're gonna be a great mother.

Charlotte:
Based on what? I have the worst role models in parental history.

Declan:
You know exactly what not to do

Nolan Ross:
Well, he came over here in person to tell me to destroy Carrion. Threatened to break my digital kneecaps if I didn't comply.

Emily:
[opening voiceover] To carry a secret is to play with fire. Try to pass it on, and you risk hurting someone else. Hold on to it... and eventually, you'll get burned.
