Trudy:
We have achieved great things today Guardian.

The Guardian:
We have indeed Supreme Mother, we have indeed.

KC:
Supreme Mother?

Jack:
More like Supreme Fruitcake.

Lex:
Come on Ebony, I was brilliant. I had that audience in the palm of my hand.

Ebony:
I thought it was a team effort?

Lex:
Yeah, you and Bray were only the puppets. I had to drive the show and show them how the Supreme Mother was just a fantasy created by that freak, The Guardian.

Ebony:
Just Lex the invincible!

Lex:
Yeah! I reckon I should have been an actor. Or a rock star!

Ebony:
Maybe you should just stick to being a rock! Or something that lives underneath it.

The Guardian:
Do you believe in dreams, Luke? Their power of prophecy?

Luke:
No.

The Guardian:
That’s right. You’re a man of practicalities. That’s why you run our security.

Ebony:
[To Lex and Bray] You want me to list what our little rebellion has achieved so far? A few drums of petrol up in smoke, a few freed slaves, a hijacked puppet show! We’re just knits in their hair.

Ebony:
We end this thing once and for all. We’re gonna wipe out The Guardian!

Lex:
I’m having deja vu.

Ned:
You know, you’re real cute when you’re angry.

Alice:
You make me sick!

Ned:
Yeah, well, you know, I try.

Lex:
I was thinking, I don’t have the right to take somebody’s life. I don’t understand. What is that? Fear?

Bray:
[smiles] No. Incredible as it may seem Lex, it was probably the straining hand of morality making a fleeting appearance in your mind.

Lex:
Oh! [laughs] Really? Maybe I’m not so bad after all. [pause] You won’t tell anybody I said that, will you? I don’t wanna lose any cred.

Bray:
I’ll take it to the grave with me.

Alice:
Ellie, have you got something going with Luke?

Ellie:
No, of course not!

Alice:
You’re everything to me. You know that, don’t you? I’ve always tried to protect you, be there for you.

Ellie:
Yeah, you have. Alice…

Alice:
And through it all, no matter how bad things have got, I’ve always known at least there’s you. At least there’s Ellie to trust. I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t want to. But don’t lose your head, Ellie. Don’t lose your heart. Because you break mine if you do.

[Andy is forcing a lock]

KC:
Where did you guys learn all this stuff?

Andy:
School.

Salene:
I have to think about my baby. They’re not gonna protect me, are they? The Mall Rats … or what’s left of them. You don’t know what it’s like having a baby grow inside you. All you wanna do is keep it safe. And that’s what I was trying to do. No one understands that. Maybe you do? I’ve seen how you are. You’re scared too, aren’t you?

Pride:
We’re all scared Salene. Every last one of us.

[Andy, Tally and KC created T-shirts with a portrait of Tai-San]

Tally:
It’s not too bad. But how about we add this? Hail Tai-San, true Supreme Mother!

KC:
Yeah, now that’ll sell.

KC:
[At the ceremony for the new Supreme Mother] T-shirts going fast! Hail Tai-San! True Supreme … [He sees Lex] … mother.

Lex:
What did you say?

May :
But you know Lex. All talk and no action.

KC:
No. This time he meant it.

Tai-San:
[playing their roles as the Chosen watch] Thank you, Great Oracle of Zoot for honouring me of your visit.

KC:
The honour is mine, Supreme Mother.

Tally:
Most of this is junk.

KC:
Wrong!! The first rule of business is there's a buyer out there for everything. Never forget that.

KC:
[to Andy and Tally] And just remember this one simple rule. My scam, my takings!!

The Guardian:
This is a great day. Zoot is pleased with us. I can feel his spirit rising in me.

Bray:
I'm worried about Lex. I think he's gonna do something stupid.

Ebony:
Oh really? That would be a new experience.

Pride:
I'd expect they'd try and stop him if they knew. In case he did something stupid.

May :
Yeah. Lex does that.

The Guardian:
[to Tai-San] But Zoot is here, all around us. You don't need to go anywhere to find him.

Ebony:
[to Lex] Oh come on! How many medals for monogamy would you win?

Ebony:
Bray, you're such a boy scout!

Bray:
Lex, where are you going?

Lex:
My wife has just divorced me in front of the whole City! I want some time alone. Do you mind?

Salene:
They’ve all gone now. All of them. First my father, then the rest of my family. Then Ryan, and now my baby. Nobody to love me. Nobody to love.

Tai-San:
Don’t you think I hate this as much as you do? I wish none of this was happening! All I want is to be with you.

Lex:
Well, what’s stopping you?

Tai-San:
I’ve got a job to do here. So please, just trust me.

Lex:
It’s that smooth talking loony I don’t trust. You’re coming with me.

Tai-San:
Don’t force this Lex. I’m begging you. Just, please go. Go now!

Lex:
I’m not going anywhere without you!

Tai-San:
Please!

Lex:
No, you belong with me Tai-San.

Tai-San:
Then I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry! But I’ve got no choice. [calls the Chosen] Guards!! Run, Lex. Run!

Lex:
I don’t believe you just said that. [he runs away]

[Lex is fishing]

Bray:
You know they say fishing helps you keep your mind off your problems. Is it working?

Lex:
Any problem I have is my stomach telling me I’m hungry. I need to catch a fish, cook a fish and eat a fish. Simple as that.

Bray:
You know? I will never understand Lex as long as I live.

Ebony:
What’s he done now?

Bray:
[talking about Lex leaving to kill The Guardian] Well he didn’t come back last night.

Ebony:
You didn’t really expect him to, did you?

Bray:
I’d hoped, once he’d had time to cool down…

Ebony:
Bray! This is Lex we’re talking about, remember? He’s only got room in his head for one idea at a time!

Bray:
[Bray is looking for Lex and is being trailed by Ebony] What do you think you’re doing?

Ebony:
Watching your back!

Bray:
Oh yeah? Why?

Ebony:
Look the place is crawling with guards.

Bray:
I can take care of myself.

Ebony:
Yeah, well, maybe I felt guilty. You’re right I did wind Lex up. And I’m sorry. Look I wanna help, okay? You’re the boss. I’ll do whatever you say.

Bray:
Yeah, well, I’d say I’d feel happier with you in front rather than behind me.

May :
So, what are you doing around these parts, Pride?

Salene:
He’s been practicing tai-chi with the Supreme Mother.

Pride:
Yeah, just keeping her body, mind and spirit in term for the ceremony.

May :
Wow! Tai-San never said anything about it to me.

Salene:
I really appreciated that last visit, Pride. It really helped me a lot. Thank you.

May :
Visit? You mean you guys have been hanging out? What else don’t I know??

Pride:
Sometimes knowledge waits for the bearer to be ready to own it. Have patience, May.

Andy:
We want a word with you!

KC:
What about?

Tally:
What’s your game?

KC:
A game? Me? Don’t know what you’re talking about.

[After Lex has accidentally shot Tai-San]

Bray:
Where are you going Lex?

Lex:
Out. I need some air.

Bray:
You’re going to the Mall, aren’t you?

Lex:
Get out of my way!

Bray:
No.

Lex:
I said get out of my way!!

Bray:
I can’t let you go. The Chosen will be buzzing around there like a swarrn of bees. They’ll be looking for you!

Lex:
So what?

Bray:
If you go out there in this state, you’ll get caught. Maybe even worse.

Lex:
Why do you care? Look, I’m sorry Bray, I didn’t mean to. I wanted him but she got in the way. I didn’t wanna hurt Tai-San.

Bray:
Of course, you didn’t.

Lex:

Chosen:
[gives KC back his dice] Well?

KC:

Chosen:
[pointing at Andy and Tally] Those two were using them.

KC:
What? Those little monsters? You gotta watch them every second. Anything that doesn’t nail down, they’ll pinch.

Chosen:
Never mind that. Are they yours?

KC:
I just told you that, didn’t I?

May :
The Guardian’s going crazy.

Alice:

May :
No. I mean really crazy!
