You're right. It should have ended. The problem exists in that these three battling demons are the three kings with the ruling power over all of Demon World. Their hatred for each other runs very deep for several reasons, but the one issue that brought about this falling out is the issue central to all living things - food. All three of these demons find the satisfaction to their hunger in human beings.
