James:
You guys all know that I've been doing a lot of soul searching since I left CatCo. Trying to figure out what's next. I knew I wanted to give back, and I wanted to help people. But I was driving myself crazy trying to figure out where to put those efforts. And then my extremely wise sister gave me some damn good advice. She said "stop trying so hard to figure things out, and just be still and listen." And finally I heard it. Only it wasn't a voice from inside of me, it was this kid's voice, this-this kid that we met in Calvintown. Sadly, it's become this cesspool for crime and corruption. And he told me that-that... no one there's willing to help. There's nobody willing to stand up and do the right thing. There-there's nobody willing to put their neck on the line. And just like that, that's what I knew I had to do. Look, I've been fighting the good fight from a fancy corner office for years. And in the streets of National City as Guardian. But I started off as a guy with a camera. A camera our dad gave me. Among the people. And that is where I need to be. For now, I'm going back to Calvintown. I'm going home. And I am gonna show that town that there is somebody who is willing to fight for them. I'm gonna buy the Calvintown Gazette.

Kara:
Wow.

James:
Look, Andrea Rojas may be able to stop me from writing for a newspaper, but she can't stop me from publishing one.

Kara:
That's amazing. And what are we gonna do without you?

James:
One of the main reasons I moved to National City was because Clark wanted me to keep an eye on you. But you're the one that kept an eye on me. You never needed me. Not then, and certainly not now.
