Jack:
It must've been lost in the mail.

Sydney:
Your invitation?

Jack:
Unless it was an e-vite. I don't read e-vites.

Sloane:
Because I see in her something I once saw in you: the need to work for what's right. And because you know what it is to put aside personal issues, and that... that's a gift.

Sydney:
It's not a gift. What it's been is a necessity, and it's become a burden, and, quite frankly, something I've run out of patience for.

Director Chase:
I'm recommending to the board that you be stripped of classified clearance and assigned to the Dispatch Office at Langley.

Sydney:
You're transferring me... to the mail room!?

Komorov:
[opens a suitcase] What is inside can be used for good... or evil.

Sydney:
Me too.

Sloane:
[about Nadia] I knew she would be of great value here... but she chose to leave intelligence. Drop out.

Sydney:
You sure she really left? Fake quitting seems to be all the rage.

Nadia:
I swear to God... somehow, I will find out who did this to our mother... and I will kill him. I will.

Marshall:
[to Sydney] Okay, Phoenix, you are hot... and I mean that in many ways.

Jack:
I'll make you a deal; you cooperate with us... That's it.

Man:
You don't frighten me.

Jack:
Then, clearly you're an idiot.

Marshall:
This place is a ghost town. I don't even know anybody here anymore. Sydney's gone. Dixon, Jack, Vaughn... I mean, the only guy we have left is Sark and that's only because he's in custody... I hate that guy... I mean, really, kinda scary... Although I did go visit him. Twice. Just to see a familiar face. We had eggs.

Weiss:
Don't do that.

Sydney:
You manipulated Nadia.

Jack:
I gave your sister closure.

Sydney:
But not the truth.

Jack:
Sometimes a satisfying lie, Sydney, can do more good than the awful truth.

Martin Bishop:
So, what's your real name, Charlene?

Sydney:
I'm a...

Martin Bishop:
Ima what?

Sydney:
I'm a gonna kick your ass.

Nadia:
I don't mean to seem impatient, but... I've never done anything that's lasted as long as this.

Jack:
How sad for you...

Sloane:
Thank you.

Sydney:
For what.

Sloane:
For letting my daughter stay with you. As Nadia acclimates to this life, to a new family... she needs support... and you have put my mind at ease.

Sydney:
The thought that I did something that might have given you a warm and fuzzy feeling makes me want to kick my own sister out of my house.

MacLaine:
It's a pretty nasty cut. Mind telling me how you got it?

Vaughn:
[disguised as a priest] Someone didn't like my last sermon.

Vaughn:
When's the last time you went to confession, Kiera MacLaine?

MacLaine:
...I'm not sure how I'm supposed to feel.

Vaughn:
About what?

MacLaine:
A flirty priest.

Vaughn:
I assure you my intentions are honorable... mostly.

Jack Bristow|Jack]]:
Is something on your mind Agent Vaughn?

Vaughn:
[hesitant] No, not really. I'm not very sleeping well.

Jack:
It's Lauren, isn't it?

Vaughn:
I think I see her sometimes; I thought I saw her in the market in Algeria. Did that ever happen with you?

Jack:
Do I have visions of Lauren?

Vaughn:
I don't know that many people who killed the woman they were married to. I was just wondering if that's what happens.

Jack:
It did, now it doesn't.

Jack:
[to Nadia] Irina told me years ago that this is a picture of her holding her niece. She told me that holding this baby filled her with a longing and a hope to have children of her own. The next day I asked Irina to marry me; I wanted my child to be loved like the baby in this photograph. Of course, her story could have been a total fabrication, another one of her countless lies designed to draw me in. But I choose to believe it was truth. When we had Sydney, Irina held her in this exact same way, and I can only imagine that she did the same with you. So for me, I choose to believe. But than I suppose each of us needs to find our own sense of closure.

Vaughn:
I was married for a short time... The woman I was married to betrayed me, she betrayed a lot of people. And when I found out what she'd done, I let my hate for her consume me, I began to wish the woman I loved was dead. I woke up every day imagining how I'd do it, what was the best way, what was the most efficient way. It's all I wanted. That woman was evil and deserved to be punished and so I killed her. And although that woman was the worst kind of evil I also know that killing her was wrong. I don't sleep much, I can't. I can't close my eyes without seeing it, that moment, the look on her face. She won't leave me. She won't.

Weiss:
You don't have to analyze everything you do. You can just decide to have fun. It's okay.

Sydney:
[about Vaughn and her] We're fun.

Weiss:
Yeah. You guys are about as spontaneous as my grandparents - and they're dead.

Jack:
Irina Derevko collected 19th century literature. There was a small bookstore in Prague that stocked rare first editions. Whenever I was in town, I'd buy one for her as a gift.

Marshall:
Oh, that's sweet.

Jack:
The KGB encoded assassination orders in these pages.

Marshall:
Oh. Well... that's... not as sweet.

Car Salesman Phil:
How'd he pop the question?

Sydney:
[posing as a married couple] He took me to...

Vaughn:
Santa Barbara, actually. I had this whole romantic weekend planned. Presidential suite at the Biltmore. Candlelit dinner on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. So we went into town and she wouldn't stop talking about the zoo. So we went to the zoo. I figured I had to get it over with. Then I saw how happy it made her. That made me forget about all my stupid plans. And here we had a personal chef making this unbelievable meal at the hotel and I proposed on one knee in sawdust in front of a giraffe with a crooked neck.

Sydney:
The story you told at the dealership. We were supposed to go to Santa Barbara three years ago. We never made it.

Vaughn:
Karen and Dave did.

Sydney:
I know what this is. This is a game to you. A cruel joke at my expense.

Vaughn:
What's a game?

Sydney:
You and me. Admit it.

Vaughn:
No, Sydney, Sydney, listen to me. What are you scared of?

Sydney:
I am scared. Scared you're gonna betray me again. Like you did when you married Lauren.

Vaughn:
I would never, ever hurt you.

Sydney:
Stop. Stop right there.

Vaughn:
What's going on here? Girl stuff?

Nadia:
People stuff.

Sydney:
[to Sloane] I wanna make something clear. I will never forgive you for what you've done to me. To the people I love. No amount of time or distance will ever change that. I'll see you tomorrow.

Marshall:
Sorry, I'm not much of a sports fan. More of a scrabble club type.

Vaughn:
[to the guard] We're old friends.

Sark:
Actually, given our shared intimacies with your late wife, I may even go so far as to say that we're family. Mr. Vaughn, your timing is impeccable. The last of my broken bones has finally healed and I sit before you a fresh canvas for your aggression. But before we begin whatever inquisition you're here for, there is a pesky question that's been lingering in my head. Do you mind?

Vaughn:
Go ahead.

Sark:
Was it the infidelity or the espionage that motivated you to kill the woman I loved?

Vaughn:
The woman you loved?

Sark:
Yes. Loved. You know, she once actually told me that she longed to love you... but the mundane existence you provided couldn't hold a candle to my passion.

[Vaughn punches him]

Vaughn:
That wasn't for sleeping with the woman I was married to. I couldn't care less about her.

Jack:
In the next 24 hours, Sark should lead us to CRF headquarters. We'll put a tactical team on stand-by. For now, we wait.

Marshall:
Who wants to order Chinese? I'm starving. [Jack and Vaughn give him identical stares] Thai? Indian?

Marshall:
You mess with a friend of Flinkman, you're messing with Flinkman.

Sark:
Gentlemen. Were you expecting a bigger party?

Vaughn:
This isn't CRF headquarters.

Sark:
You're a genius.

Vaughn:
Where are we?

Sark:
Nowhere. In particular. And that's the truth. Just a nice place for a chat. Really, Michael. Don't look so shocked. You couldn't have had such low expectations of me. Now with regards to your previous request. I will help you locate CRF leadership. But as always, you must do something for me in return.

Vaughn:
Why the charade? If you were going to cooperate why run at all?

Sark:
For the bubbly, of course.

Vaughn:
[Talking about Weiss' last relationship] When it ended you were all, like, weird.

Weiss:
Weird how?

Vaughn:
You were building ships in bottles. You built many, many ships in many bottles over many, many months.

Weiss:
Yeah, that's called a hobby.

Vaughn:
"Hobby"? You locked yourself in a closet for a month--

Weiss:
Tell me you don't still think about how I got those ships in the bottles...

Sloane:
I don't care about her agenda. That woman is a threat - I want her destroyed.

Jack:
Your daughter has just been attacked, I understand that. But this is no time to react emotionally.

Sloane:
Whatever it takes to find Anna... whatever corners you have to cut, whatever favors you have to call in, do it. But find her. Eliminate her.

Jack:
And what about your faith that Nadia will survive?

Sloane:
Oh... this isn't about faith.

Vaughn:
Does this make you feel better, watching this happen?

Sark:
It gives me hope that I can still achieve closure.

Vaughn:
Guys like you don't believe in closure. That would actually require you to care about something.

Sark:
Perhaps that's true. Perhaps all I can hope for is a moment for us all to share. You, me, her. And letting go of all pretexts and subterfuge, we can finally admit the truth. Your wife loved me. Not even death can change that. Do it. Open it.

Vaughn:
You want your moment? Take it.

[Lauren's coffin is opened and Sark begins to unzip the cover over her chest, to see her bullet wounds]

Vaughn:
Stop.

Sark:
My agreement, Mr. Vaughn, allows for this. A perfect triangular pattern, consistent with CIA training. It was you. You did this.

Vaughn:
Yes, I did.

Sark:
I'll take you to CRF. But I want you to face what you did. I want you to look at her.

Anna:
When I heard of a young man so ruthless in his shifting allegiances that he killed his own father...I thought, "This is a man I am fated to work with."

Sark:
I gave you my word, Mr. Vaughn. Am I to take it that you don't trust me?

Vaughn:
You're about to betray one of your former partners; it doesn't really instill faith in your loyalty.

Sark:
My past infidelities are just that; mistakes I've learned from... repented for. I've become a trustworthy man.

Sloane:
Among the items retrieved was the Blackwell index.

Weiss:
Blackwell? What is this, worst dressed list?

Nadia:
I had no idea what to expect from tonight. I've never celebrated anything with family before. And I wasn't even sure I wanted to, but Sydney insisted. Now I see what I've been missing all these years... the chance to know my family for the kind of people they really are.

Sloane:
The Chinese have a saying: "One joy scatters a thousand griefs." So it is in that spirit that I wish you, Nadia, the same joy that you bring to me every day. I never dreamed that something so precious would come into my life. Because of you, I am a changed man.

Sam:
So how do I know you're not one of the bad guys?

Sydney:
If I was one of the bad guys, you would already be dead.

Marshall:
The good thing, slash, bad thing about living in Austria, smoking is not prohibited. Ergo you have just developed a smoking habit. [offers Sydney a cigarette]

Sydney:
No, thanks.

Marshall:
Good answer, just checking. It is actually a mag strip encoder.

Marshall:
Signature plus...password...plus a little Flinkman secret sauce...Nice. Bow before me and weep, encryption gods.

[Attempting to decode Vaughn's dad's secret journal]

Sydney:
Give me the pen? What if these aren't operation names?

Vaughn:
What are you doing?

Sydney:
Substitiution cipher.

Vaughn:
Okay, how'd you see that?

Sydney:
My father used to encrypt my crossword puzzles when I was a kid [Vaughn snorts, she looks up] The least of my childhood dysfunctions.

Sydney:
Do you know how hard it is to maintain cover while dancing the salsa in three-inch heels?

Vaughn:
Actually, I do, but let's not go into that.

Marshall:
Not really a policy, per se. More of a been-burned-by-too-many-fly-by-night-terrorists-to-trust-them sort of thing. You know, one day they say, 'We'll pay gold,' the next they say, 'Did we say gold? We meant goats--'"

Jack:
[on the phone] What's your status?

Marshall:
Well, it's really hot here, and everyone keeps calling me Chongo.

[Marshall has accidentally shot a man; they need the man's eyes for a retinal scan. Marshall digs into one eye with a letter opener]

Marshall:
Oh God. It's oozing. It's oozing everywhere, sir.

Jack:
[via cell phone] That means you've ruptured the macula. The eye is useless, abandon it. Approach the second one gently, like a soft-boiled egg. You're going to need a digging instrument to assist with this.

Marshall:
I've got a spork.

Jack:
What's a spork?

Marshall:
It's like a half-spoon... half-fork, will that do?

Jack:
That will work.

Marshall:
[singing a lullaby] Hush, little Mitchell, don't you cry. Daddy's gonna teach you 'bout lanthanides. Cerium's first, yes it leads the way. Hexagonal structure and it's iron gray. Praseodymium is next and it looks like brass...

Jack:
The more you cooperate the less pain you endure.

Sabrina:
Can't we just unplug it, or something?

Vaughn:
Yeah, sure, if you don't mind blowing it up and killing us both in the process...

Dixon:
And we relocate you to someplace safe.

Roberts:
Someplace safe.. Like Mars?

Sydney:
We give Roberts the coil and put him into play. He makes an exchange, we track the coil back to Arvin Clone.

[Sloane looks at Sydney; Marshall laughs.]

Sydney:
Sorry, that's what we've been calling him.

Weiss:
Yeah, also, uh, Marvin Sloane... The Rolling Sloanes...

Sydney:
The man, the impostor- everything about him is Sloane. His clothes, his posture, the way he looked at me, it's the way you look at me.

Sloane:
And how is that Sydney?

Sydney:
Let's just say it's equally disturbing.

Jack:
Coordinate an in-country rendezvous with Sloane at twelve hundred hours.

Weiss:
Jack, it's me. You can say 'noon'.

Jack:
Just do it!

Sloane:
Hello. Who's the man misrepresenting me?

Carter:
It's Arvin Sloane

Sloane:
I am Arvin Sloane. Do you know what this is? What you've done?

Carter:
What the hell do you want?

Sloane:
Do you understand what you're dealing with here and for what?

Carter:
Yes he told me. Mr. Sloane...

Sloane:
Listen to me don't make me tell you again who I am. You Fool.

Carter:
He told me...he told me I could live forever.

Sloane:
NOOO!!! Is that what you think this is about? Immortality? You bought a rumor, you simple-minded dilettante! The mystery, the true secrets of these creations, will always be held back from you, the unworthy!

Sydney:
What the hell were you thinking?!?

Sloane:
I'm sure you mean that in the most polite way.

Vaughn:
This is where your dad lives, huh.

Sydney:
What did you expect?

Vaughn:
I don't know, a bunker or something? You've really never been here?

Sydney:

Vaughn:

Sydney:
As opposed to everything else about my relationship with my father.

Nadia:
Marshall.

Marshall:
Hey, did you hear the news? I get to run an initial analysis on the Hydrosek this afternoon - I love level four biohazard toxins.

Sydney:
Remind me to kiss you.

Marshall:
Wh-? Ok...

Dixon:
What'd she say to you?

Marshall:
Uh... nothing.

Marshall:
Wow. Mr. Bristow hallucinated the one man who could actually save his life. Even his delusions are lucid.

Arvin Clone:
He's a CIA stooge with my good looks.

Sydney:
You still trust him.

Jack:
I trust that when he laid the seeds for this crisis, he thought he was doing something good. That he didn't see this as a trigger for global genocide.

Sydney:
So he's simply a delusional megalomaniac with benign intentions.

Marshall:
Hey, man, congratulations, that's fantastic! I'm sure Mr. Bristow's gonna be thrilled.

Vaughn:
Really? I'm just hoping he doesn't shoot me on the spot.

Jack [after an exasperating phone conversation]:
Like weapons grade anthrax grows on trees.

Dixon:
In spite of all this... it's good to see you.

[He and Director Chase kiss.]

Dixon:
Weekends aren't enough.

Director Chase:
Tell me about it.

Jack:
I was set up. Elena put a hit out on Sydney, framed Irina for it.

Katya:
Oh, I see. So, you executed my sister on misunderstanding. Well, then, all is forgiven. Don't stand there pretending you are a patsy; you're too good at what you do. If you pulled the trigger, part of you wanted to be manipulated.

Elena:
My men think you're here to kill me.

Sloane:
You should hire smarter men.

Vaughn:
How do you want to play this?

Sydney:
You mean you want to be rough or you want me to be rough?

Vaughn:
Oh, you're always rough.

Sydney:
No, I'm not!

Vaughn:
Yes, you are.

Sydney:
That's not true.

Vaughn:
Yes, it is.

Sydney:
Are you talking about at home or on ops?

Vaughn:
Both... Hey, I'm not complaining.

Sydney:
If I'm rough it's because you like it when I... Are we on comms?!

Jack:
Yes, you're both on comms. Right now.

Jack:
You are going to enjoy getting to know Nadia. She is exceptional.

Irina:
I wonder where she got that from?

Vaughn:
I was going to take you to the beach - Santa Barbara. We'd go out for a walk, maybe when the sun was setting. But now we're here, and I don't know what we're jumping into. And I may never get another chance to do this again. Sometimes I wake up before you do and I watch you sleep and I'm overwhelmed because ... you're so amazing. And I don't know why I'm lucky enough to have you in my life. That you're here with me. And I know I want to spend the rest of my life with you, trying to make you as happy as you make me. Sydney Bristow, will you marry me?

Sydney:
[to Vaughn] Just in case, yeah, I wanna marry you.

Jack:
I'm actually hoping that you don't tell us what we need to know ... There's a fifty-fifty chance Sydney cuts the right wire. I'm willing to take those odds if it means I can stand here and watch you turn into an animal.

Elena:
You're not a gambling man, Jack.

Jack:
I didn't use to be, but it's been a rather interesting year for me. It's made me reevaluate certain parts of my life. I'm trying to have more fun these days.

Weiss:
What would Jack do in this situation? Jack is the ... king of this sort of thing.

Marshall:
Well, first he'd probably glower a bit, right. Then he'd, I don't know, probably blackmail or torture somebody, right?

Sydney:
Vaughn, what are you telling me?

Vaughn:
Well, for starters, my name's not Michael Vaughn.

The Dealer:
One couple will get to join our little group and, oh yes, a new convertible, and the other couple, well, will die.
