The Inbetweeners

The Inbetweeners is a British coming-of-age sitcom television series, which originally aired on E4 from 2008–2010, that was created and written by Damon Beesley and Iain Morris. The series follows the misadventures of suburban teenager Will (Simon Bird) and his friends Simon (Joe Thomas), Neil (Blake Harrison), and Jay (James Buckley) at the fictional Rudge Park Comprehensive. The show involves situations of school life, uncaring school staff, friendship, male bonding, lad culture, and largely failed sexual encounters. The show was nominated for Best Situation Comedy at BAFTA twice, in 2009 and 2010. At the British Academy Television Awards 2010, it won the Audience Award, and in 2010 the show won the Best Sitcom award. In the 2011 British Comedy Awards, the show also won the award for Outstanding Contribution to British Comedy. The Inbetweeners Movie was released on 17 August 2011 to box office success, and a sequel followed on 6 August 2014.
