[puts gun to Thompson's temple] Your last thought [Executes Thompson]

Okay, *technically* I'm a serial killer.

[Elle studies Peter as he wakes up]

Bob Bishop:

Elle Bishop:
[sing-song] He could be...

Peter Petrelli:

Adam Monroe:

Niki Sanders:

Bob Bishop:

Micah Sanders:
[referring to himself and his parents] We could be like the Fantastic Four! Minus one, but still...

Peter Petrelli:
I don't understand. If they're not gonna help us, why are we here?

Adam Monroe:

Adam Monroe:

[Elle strokes Peter's head, sending a few electroshocks over it]

Peter Petrelli:
Ow! That hurts!

Elle Bishop:

Mohinder Suresh:

[Peter has asked Elle about her life story]

Elle Bishop:
I accidentally set my grandmother's house on fire when I was six. Caused a blackout in four counties in Ohio when I was eight. I spent my ninth birthday in a glass room with an I.V. of lithium in my arm. I've lived in this building for sixteen years... ever since the shrinks here diagnosed me as a homicidal sociopath with paranoid delusions. But... they were just out to get me because I threatened to kill 'em. Now, I'm 24 years old and I've never gone on a date... never been on a roller coaster, never been swimming. And now you know everything there is to know about me. I don't have the luxury of being more interesting than that.

Emile Danko:
How the hell did you get in here?

Sylar:
Well, you'd be amazed what you can do with a lifted I.D. badge, a four-dollar tie and a West Baltimore accent.

Claire Bennet:
You know what? Over the years, I couldn't help but... think about my real dad. Who you were, what you looked like, your job. And then I met you; and you were more amazing than anything I could have ever imagined.

Nathan Petrelli:
I mean, it's just a fantasy.

Claire Bennet:
No. No, it doesn't have to be! You could do anything you want - you could fly!

Nathan Petrelli:
Claire...

Claire Bennet:
You're supposed to be Superman.

Emile Danko:
So how did that feel? Zipping up that body bag?

Sylar:
Cathartic. Poetic. And tactically fortunate. It'll be a lot easier for us to operate... if everybody thinks I'm dead.

Emile Danko:
If we do this - if we succeed - you'd be the only one left.

Sylar:
Funny how that works.

[Claire puts a batch of banknotes on the table]

Claire Bennet:
Voil?!

Nathan Petrelli:
Where'd you get that?

Claire Bennet:
I sold my kidney. Actually, both of them - twice!

Claire Bennet:
[to Nathan, who is heavily drunk] You should - never - ever - fly - in that condition!

Emile Danko:
I want eyes on every road, every terminal, air, bus, roadblocks. This isn't a drill, people. Three of our own died, and they will not die in vain - not on my watch, not on yours. Remember your training. Remember Agents Whitman, Price and Holiday, and their families. Remember, we don't sleep... until this son-of-a-b*tch is caught!

Emile Danko:
Our orders is to take them all in.

Noah Bennet:
You're so desperate to chalk up a win you're cutting corners, is that it?

Emile Danko:
Let's not forget you're Nathan Petrelli's boy. Your last crusade was to catch this Rebel, and you didn't catch him, did you? You need to win a hell of a lot more than I do.

Emile Danko:
You got twenty years of experience with these people, and I need a plan. And I don't wanna hear 'one of us, one of them'.

Noah Bennet:
Then I won't say it. But it got the job done.

Sylar:
Maybe I'm the goose who lays the golden egg. I can round them all up.

Emile Danko:
You suggesting that I can't?

Sylar:
You chased a shape-shifter. You don't *chase* a shape-shifter.

Sylar:
Why does anybody want power? To screw with people? Or to simply screw people?

[Sylar and Danko see Martin - in the shape of Danko - flirting with a woman]

Emile Danko:
What's he up to? Why me?

Sylar:
He's after power. He thinks that's something you have - trying to convert the power into love. Doing a pretty good job of it too. He's a better you than you!

Peter Petrelli:
Your coat's sopping wet. I found this one in the bins; it looked like something you'd wear.

Angela Petrelli:
It should; it's mine.

Angela Petrelli:
I'm afraid that unconditional love isn't really love at all.

Angela Petrelli:
There used to be love in this family once. Look at us now. It's all my fault.

Peter Petrelli:
You come here to be forgiven?

Angela Petrelli:
I'm not sure even God has that in him.

Angela Petrelli:
I was just like you, my head in the clouds, full of hope. I was gonna be a teacher. And then my power manifested, and the dreams came - visions of a bloody future, of deceit and death, the apocalypse. And when I awoke, I tried to warn everyone, but no one would listen. Why would they? Why should they? I was Cassandra, screaming that the sky was falling, but when they looked up, there wasn't a cloud in sight. [talking to God]

[a heroin-addled Isaac is frantically painting away at a large canvas]

Mohinder Suresh:
You can run far; you can take your small precautions, but have you really gotten away?

[cuts to Isaac's painting of Hiro and Ando standing below and gazing upward at a blood-drenched homecoming banner]

Mohinder Suresh:
Can you ever escape?

[dissolves into Clare on the living room floor creating her homecoming banner as her father looks on somberly from his recliner]

Mohinder Suresh:
Or is the truth that you do not have the strength or cunning to hide from destiny? But the world is not small, you are...

[scene ends up back into the Burnt Toast diner where Ando is anxiously awaiting the arrival of Hiro. Camera closes in on a picture that is tacked to a bulletin board among a sea of other photos; it is a picture of Hiro and the waitress smiling over her birthday cake]

Mohinder Suresh:
And fate can find you anywhere.

[first lines]

Mohinder Suresh:

Mohinder Suresh:
[laughs] The world's worst pillow talk, I'd say.

Matt Parkman:
[Audrey hands Matt a Dosimeter] What's this?

Audrey Hanson:
Detects radiation levels. [pointing at the Dosimeter window] As long as that's dark green we're good.

Matt Parkman:
Oh. Okay. But what's the bad color?

Audrey Hanson:
Not green.

[to Charlie, who is taking his order at a diner]

Hiro Nakamura:
You choose something delicious for me, and for my friend... he needs food for fato fato!

Peter Petrelli:
Where's the cheerleader?

Isaac Mendez:
I don't know.

Peter Petrelli:
But you painted her.

Isaac Mendez:
You painted her too.

Hiro Nakamura:
You learn very fast.

Charlie Andrews:
Yeah, lately I sorta remember everything I read. It's kind of a skill, I guess.

Hiro Nakamura:
My skill much more complicate.

Charlie Andrews:
[laughing] Oh, yeah. What can you do?

Hiro Nakamura:
[pauses and hesitates for a moment] I can teach Japanese to anyone.

Claire Bennet:
[visits her father at work] Dad!

Noah Bennet:
Claire? Honey, is everything alright?

Claire Bennet:
Yeah, everything's fine. Can't a girl just visit her dad at work?

Noah Bennet:
You never visit me at work.

Claire Bennet:
Okay, I'm busted. I have an emergency. A paper emergency...

Noah Bennet:
A paper emergency!

Claire Bennet:
A paper emergency! Miss Robert says we need a banner over the trophy case and Jackie was all, "We don't have paper that big. They don't make paper that big." So I thought I stop by and try to be a hero.

Noah Bennet:
[exhaled loudly]

[hesitate for a moment] Well, if it'll make you a hero and maybe knock Jackie down, if it not, we might just find something that'll work.

Charlie Andrews:
[Charlie is bringing the sheriff and his deputy their breakfast order] Do you need anything else, Sheriff? [insistently] Lloyd?

Sheriff:
Uh huh. A gun to shoot Will Shortz. [Charlie laughs]

Deputy Lloyd:

Sheriff:

Charlie Andrews:

Ando Masahashi:
No wonder everyone is America is so fat... All there is to eat is waffles and French fries.

Hiro Nakamura:

Ando Masahashi:
I've gained four kilos from French fries.

Hiro Nakamura:

Hiro Nakamura:

Mohinder Suresh:

Audrey Hanson:

[Matt and Audrey are about to interrogate Ted Sprague] You know, three months ago, my job made perfect sense to me. Then I pulled the Sylar case. Crime scenes with no fingerprints. Bodies frozen, brains removed. And now this guy. That's two people- make that three people who can do things I just can't explain.

Matt Parkman:
Wait a second. You think I'm like them?

Audrey Hanson:
I don't know what I think. But if we're gonna find Sylar, I need answers.

Matt Parkman:
[points to head] I have no idea how this happened.

Audrey Hanson:
Well, then, I guess that just leaves Ted here.

Charlie Andrews:
[to Hiro] I like the way your cheeks wobble when you concentrate.

Charlie Andrews:
[in Japanese] I'll be right back.

Mohinder Suresh:
Who are you? What do you want?

Matt Parkman:
I'm hearing things that I should not be hearing.

Ted Sprague:
Like what?

Matt Parkman:
Things that could ruin lives. Things that... could end marriages.

Eden McCain:
Isaac. This is Mr. Bennet, the man I told you about.

Noah Bennet:
Hello, Isaac. Drawing anything interesting?

Isaac Mendez:
It's nothing.

Noah Bennet:

Isaac Mendez:
Feels like a curse.

I think its time you knew now that your father's gone. Mohinder, You had a sister.

A sister?

Mrs. Suresh:
Her name was Shanthi. She was five years old when she died, two years after you were born.

Noah Bennet:
This girl. The one you've painted here... and here... and there. She's my daughter. My Claire. This man here, he goes by the name of Sylar. He's going to kill her tomorrow night at her homecoming game.

Noah Bennet:
I need your help. I need you to paint this painting.

Isaac Mendez:
I'm sorry. I've been trying, but I can't. Not without drugs.

Noah Bennet:
[to Isaac] Fourteen years ago there was just such a case, which sadly ended in a death. A woman left behind a baby girl who had no one to take care of her.

Eden McCain:

It is one thing to publish a book in the comfort of a university, it is another to leave everything behind. Chasing a theory that is pure fantasy.

Noah Bennet:

Izzy - he hated that dog.

Peter Petrelli:
Of course. It was the only living thing he met that ever disobeyed him.

Angela Petrelli:
Let's not idolize your father because he's dead. He wasn't God; he was a man - deeply flawed in ways you will never know.

Matt Parkman:
[thinking] You want to leave, right now.

Eli:
Are you trying to push a thought? All but one of us are pretty... thoughtless.

Eric Doyle:
Sylar, please. Listen to me. Please, Samuel made me do it.

Sylar:
Really? 'Cause I thought you were the puppet master.

Eric Doyle:

It doesn't matter what I believe anymore. Because the whole world is about to find out about you. We can thank Samuel for that.

Maybe it won't be so bad. Maybe the world is more ready than you think it is. Things change.

Noah Bennet:
Sure. There might be curiosity for a while, but all it takes is one Sylar, and then the pitchforks come out and all hell breaks loose. I've seen it. They will turn on you, Claire. It's human nature. You're right. Things change. But people don't.

Noah Bennet:
I think I know why Samuel put you down here with me. So you could watch me die.

Noah Bennet:
When I said that I was the product of my experiences, I left out the most important part. You. You came into my life, and you changed everything. The man you saw up there in those memories could never have died a happy man. But I can, because of you.

Matt Parkman:
Is your buddy Samuel here with you?

Eli:
Came alone this time - so to speak.

Peter Petrelli:
[reading Eli's mind] Samuel's gonna show the world his powers... New York City... Central Park... Tonight.

Sylar:
What does he mean, show his power?

Peter Petrelli:
He's gonna open up the ground, kill them all, bury 'em.

Sylar:
That sounds like a plan I'd come up with back in the day.

Hiro Nakamura:
Destiny calls.

Ando Masahashi:
Hiro, there's no such thing as stepping on a "small butterfly".

Samuel Sullivan:
You seem to have found my power.

Peter Petrelli:
It's funny how that works, huh? I'm not gonna let you hurt anyone now.

Samuel Sullivan:
Peter, you of all people should know they have to fear us! That's the only way they'll respect us. All you've ever wanted is respect. We both know what it's like to live in the shadow of a brother. Joseph destroyed my potential, kept me down, just like your brother.

Peter Petrelli:
My brother didn't let me down. He built me up.

So, how does it feel to be ordinary?

Sylar:
Peter - your dream said I save her. Trust me.

Hiro Nakamura:

I'd like to think I have both.

Mr. Linderman:
Can't be done. Two very different paths. I mean, to be truly happy, a man must live absolutely in the present. And with no thought of what's gone before, and no thought of what lies ahead. But, a life of meaning... A man is condemned to wallow in the past and obsess about the future. And my guess is that you've done quite a bit of obsessing about yours these last few days.

Mr. Linderman:
Voil?! A pot pie. Wholesome, warm, healthy. That's, of course if you can live without the cream sauce. Personally, I can't. I mean, what's the point? You know, people can sleep, or they can gamble. Or they can even make love when they're miserable. But I think that most people eat when they're happy. I like to see people happy. Are you happy, Nathan?

When I'm around you, I can do what you can do. Isaac, Hiro Nakamura, this girl Claire - I-I-I think that we're all the same, somehow, and this bomb that Isaac painted, I think that we're supposed to stop it, but I just... I don't think I can do it. [Peter looks away from Nathan]

Nathan Petrelli:
That's because you can't.

Sylar:
[Peter turns around to see Sylar appearing and sitting where Nathan was a moment before] How can you stop what's coming, when you don't know anything about power? [Peter wakes up from his dream]

Mr. Bennet:
I said that's enough, Gabriel.

Sylar:
[screams] My name is *Sylar*!

Hiro Nakamura:
[in Japanese] "Save the Cheerleader, save the world." We failed to save her, so now we can't save the world.

Ando Masahashi:

Hiro Nakamura:
[in Japanese] No, it's an "if, then" statement.

Ando Masahashi:

Hiro Nakamura:

[chuckles, laughs and then coughs]

Peter Petrelli:
That's kind of stupid, huh? [Mr. Bennet knocks again, Claire nods at him and walks to the cell door]

Claire Bennet:
No, it's not. You're totally my hero.

Audrey Hanson:
Really, Parkman. Since when does "absence of noise" warrant a stake-out?

Matt Parkman:
You always say I don't take you anywhere.

Audrey Hanson:
You sure know how to spoil a girl.

Matt Parkman:
Eat your Tex Mex.

Audrey Hanson:
[thinking to herself] I'm just saying: he can be cute. Oh God. Did he just hear that?

[Matt looks over at her, smiling]

Claire Bennet:
What kinds of things?

Mr. Bennet:
I just wanted you to have a normal life.

That man is taken care of. I promise you.

Claire Bennet:

I'm gonna pick Lyle up from practice. And I'll talk to him, you talk to Zach. And any other tapes you've made, I need you to destroy them.

Peter Petrelli:

Sylar:

Mr. Bennet:
Lucky you. We're interested in how things work too. Everyone else we've... met has had only one ability. You've taken on several.

Micah Sanders:

D.L. Hawkins:

Micah Sanders:

Matt Parkman:
[reading Peter's mind] Save the cheerleader?

Audrey Hanson:

Eden McCain:
[Isaac is sketching when Eden walks in] Anything interesting?

To be honest it's nice to be drawing just to draw again. That's what I liked about comics, you don't have to take them too seriously.

Eden McCain:
Good guys catching bad guys. Which reminds me... Claire. The cheerleader... she's alive.

Isaac Mendez:
[Isaac breathes a sigh of relief] Peter. He saved her.

Eden McCain:
No, you did. With your gift... I mean thanks to you, Sylar won't be able to hurt anybody anymore.

Isaac Mendez:
This means we can change the future. Maybe stop that bomb.

Eden McCain:
Well, I wish you the best of luck.

Isaac Mendez:

Eden McCain:

You're leaving... what good is painting the future if no one would do anything to change it. [Eden gave Isaac a kiss on his cheek while slipping a cell phone and a keycard into his hand]

Hiro Nakamura:
[in Japanese] I couldn't save Charlie. And now the Cheerleader is dead too.

Ando Masahashi:
[in Japanese] "The earth is doomed?".

Peter Petrelli:

Claire Bennet:

Mr. Bennet:

Peter Petrelli:

Mr. Bennet:
We're gonna take you apart, Gabriel.

Claire Bennet:
You said that there were people that wanted to hurt me. I think they got to Zach and Lyle. They don't remember anything. It's like it never happened. I don't know what to do!

Mr. Bennet:

Claire Bennet:

Mr. Bennet:

Eden McCain:

[Eden inhales deeply, turns the gun towards her own head, and pulls the trigger]

Ando Masahashi:
[Isaac is busy completing a new painting] [in Japanese] I thought he only painted the future...

Nathan Petrelli:
[last week] Easy, it's alright.

Peter Petrelli:
It's all my fault... the explosion

Nathan Petrelli:
What you talking about?

Peter Petrelli:

Claire Bennet:

Angela Petrelli:
[Angela smirks] [to Claire] You get that mouth from me.

Peter Petrelli:
You saved my life.

Claire Bennet:
Guess we're even now.

Matt Parkman:
Wait a minute - you didn't know that? You're trying to take down your organization, and you don't even know who signs your checks? Oh my god! You're middle management!

Nathan Petrelli:
I don't know who I am without you.

Peter Petrelli:
Course you do. You're Nathan Petrelli. Top of his class, valedictorian, most-likely-to. You're that guy with me or without me.

Nathan Petrelli:
Who's to say I'm not all that because of you? Most of what we are is what people expect us to be. I mean, if you take them away, nothing means anything.

Mohinder Suresh:

Thompson:
Glasses? Tall fella? He's no longer with the Company.

Isaac Mendez:

Sylar:
I guess you know why I'm here.

Isaac Mendez:

Sylar:
That's true. [pause] This is usually the part when people start screaming.

Isaac Mendez:
I tried fighting the future. It's too big for me. Maybe you can do better.

Nathan Petrelli:
[Nathan sees Hiro in one of Isaac's paintings] I know this man.

Mr. Linderman:
Oh, great. If you see him again tell him I want my sword back.

Nathan Petrelli:
He said he needed it to save the world. A lot of people seem to be saying that these days.

[Nathan is uncovering a painting of him, Claire knocks on door]

Claire Bennet:
Your mom said you wanted to talk to me?

Nathan Petrelli:
I did, I do. Come in. Please. This should've happened a long time ago, under better circumstances. It shouldn't take someone nearly dying for the two of us to finally meet.

Claire Bennet:
You know, you don't have to this. Pretend to be nice to me.

Nathan Petrelli:
I'm not pretending. Claire, most people think the worst of me and I've probably given them a good reason to, but I want to do better. I want to be there for you. [pauses] But I can't. Not now.

Claire Bennet:
Of course.

Nathan Petrelli:
I'm sorry, but there are things happening right now that I don't expect you to understand. I barely understand them myself. I went into politics for the chance to do something good, to have a chance to help. To be a part of something big. And in order to do that, I have to...

Claire Bennet:
The election. Can't have some illegitimate daughter popping up right in front of the cameras.

Nathan Petrelli:
I need to win.

Claire Bennet:
You need me to leave. Paris with my grandmother.

Nathan Petrelli:
She warms up. Sort of. It's just one week.
